[Input Required]: PC Gaming Keyboard/Mouse

D-toiders! I need halp!

Not to long ago, I bought my new fancy pants computer with fancy pants hardware but the keyboard and mouse that I originally got with it quite frankly suck. The keyboard only gets input every once in a while and sometimes just decides it wants to use 40 spaces for no reason. So I'm typing up this post on a default keyboard that came with my parents windows ME Compaq computer. Scary huh?

On top of my keyboard being unresponsive, my mouse takes about 40 million-thousand-billion battery's a second , but I really like wireless mouses. Seems like I need to find a rechargeable one.

Anyways, my question is guys: What do you use for PC gaming?

Wireless? Wired? What mouse? What keyboard? Ergonomic even worth looking into?

D-toiders. Save me.

protip: its "once in a while" not "once and a while"

also ive got the Logitech MX3000 keyboard and mouse set
theyre both wireless, the mouse is a laser one, it takes batteries but they last for a long time
ive only changed them three times since i bought it last year!

its a really nice set, and its cheap

cheg it out

I use the G13 keyboard from logitech (which they don't make anymore, its kinda a cross between the G11 and the G15) and I use the G5 laser mouse. I recently upgraded to the MX518 mouse but I didn't like the placement of the sensitivity buttons so I went back to my G5.

Stick with logitech for both. But get a wired keyboard because you will save on battery money and make it more responsive. For the mouse get a Logitech G5 wireless.

ALWAYS use a wired mouse for gaming. I've been usingthis cheap mouse for about 5 years now and from what I know it's pretty perfect except for being optical and not laser. I suggest using any old no-frills keyboard. As long as it feels good to you, then it's good.

For some top of the line gaming stuff check out SteelSeries

i used to love my Logitech MX510, and thoguht it was the best thing ever, then i got a razer deathadder, and that all changed. I never liked razer mice, cept for the death adder. as for a keyboard, i used to have a saitek eclipse keyboard, but then it died. right now I'm using a microsoft/razer reclusa, nad love it.

Logitech G15 keyboard

logitech MX revolution mouse is a good wireless mouse, but i'd suggest using a wired one for gaming because their more responsive, and you dont need to worry about dieing batterys

Keyboard: Random keyboard
Mous: Logitech MX 518, which I can recommend, its really good.

If you want to go with a wireless mouse use bluetooth not infrared

I love my Logitech MX518 mouse, its wonderful

As far as a keyboard, I'd go with the G15. I love mine

G15 keyboard and G5 mouse. Both wired. Both are awesome. I love the macro programming on the G15, and the on-the-fly sensitivity switching of the G5.

i'm using a zboard keyboard. The original usb zboard with the swappable keysets. It's not that useful with the gaming keyset, but the keyboard itself is pretty decent.

my mouse is a razor pro 1.6 optical mouse. it's pretty decent.

I'm using a default Dell keyboard that I got two computers ago, and a GE made five button optical mouse I bought at Goodwill for $1 that suits my needs absolutely perfectly. ;) You don't need to spend money for quality keyboards and mice.

You know some people here have mentioned they use wired mouses and keyboards, but no one has really pushed the importance of it. Let me say the most important choice you can make is to go wired over wireless. I go to LAN parties about once a month and have watched a lot of my friends get fragged because they used a wireless mouse that just couldn't keep up with the action. I have convinced most of them to go wired, and they are all much happier now.

As for me I am a huge fan of the Razer mouses. I personally use the Razer DeathAdder.

As for keyboards, I have tried high end keyboards, and the low end basic microsoft keyboards, and I honestly find it in no way makes a difference. The expensive keyboards give you all these extra features, but I found I never use them. A basic keyboard itself is so functional and customizable in all games these days there is no need for special features. I say to just go with a regular one from either M$ or Logitech.

I picked up a "gaming keyboard" very similar to the one in your picture almost a year ago. I plugged it in though, played it for 15 minutes, took it out and shoved it in my closet. Nothing beats generic keyboard and mouse.

I bought a generic Microsoft keyboard and mouse set for 35 bucks two years ago. It's served me well, except, the W,A,S and D keys are pretty faded.

ive heard many good things about those already suggested: namely the g5 and g15 and many friends swear by their mx510/518 (i dont know the difference, im assuming the 518 is a revision).

as far as i know those mice have little docks that they recharge on? so thats a sweet feature.

unless you play shit where you need a high degree of customibility getting a keyboard with macros is kinda overkill. any keyboard will do, just look at the layout and see if it is to your liking (i.e. size/placement of backspace/enter/tab/alt/ctl/arrowkeys/etc). those are the few things that vary from keyboard to keyboard.

p.s. dont go cheap too cheap on the keyboard though. i buy $10 keyboards almost exclusively just because that way when they get dirty or busted they are easy to replace... but some cheap brands will shit the bed if you try and press too many keys at once (like trying to duck, jump, walk at an angel and talk on vent all at the same time).

youll use these things all day everyday, so get something worth while, but not over the top.
