I'm 23, and have been playing games since I was about 2 or 3 with the super old computer my dad got to bring home from working with the government. I got my NES when I was 5.

I love old school SNES RPGs, and I play pretty much anything now except sports games. I'll play FPSs, but typically not on consoles.

I currently own:
A PC
DS Lite
Wii

PS3

I have previously owned:

Mirror's Edge is not PS3 exclusive, will also be released on 360 and PC
Aerox | 1:54 PM on 05.08.2008 26 comments

Ok, so I know that some of you might have already known this, but it seems like during the last few days most of the internet (including myself) was under the impression that Mirror's Edge was going to be a PS3 exclusive.

An email to EA's PR people this morning however revealed that the PS3 exclusive rumor was due to UK blog incorrectly reporting on the game, and that it will in fact be available for the PS3, the 360, and the PC. When the blog that originally reported it was exclusive (ThreeSpeech) was contacted, they admitted that they made the mistake. The original announcement also confirms this is true.

I have to hand it to Sony's clever tactic of unveiling the trailer at SCEE; without saying anything they managed to make a large amount of people assume this game was exclusive. Well done Sony PR team.

I know some of the PS3 fans will be outraged/disappointed by this news (although I've never really understood why people get so upset when it turns out games aren't exclusive. For me, the more people that can play a game, the better), but for those who don't have a PS3 this is fantastic news. Expect all sorts of awesome mods and maps and things on the PC version that won't be available on the consoles. (Seriously guys, why are you still playing TF2 on your 360s and PS3s?!)

For everyone who knew this already, I apologize in advance if you feel personally inconvenienced because you chose to read this. For the majority of people who didn't know, what are your thoughts? Excited? Annoyed? Aroused?

Meh, now more people can enjoy it!

Getting this on the PS3 as it looks like it could be pretty cool.

Cool. And pretty interesting too. It looked like this would be one of those "behold the power of Blu-ray" games. Will be intriguing to see how good this runs on the 360.

I dont mind too much as long as the versions aren't crappy.

... Which often happens on at least 1 version in recent multiplatform games.

I thought most people knew that this was multi-platform. I guess not as many people knew about this game before the trailer was released as I thought.

I think I'm still gonna go with the PS3 version. It seems like that's the one that they started development for, and those usually end up being better in the end anyway.

It'll be PC for me, as I do not own either of those consoles and I have been meaning to get a graphics card for the longest time. Any suggestions for an affordable card?

From the first time I heard about this (from Shacknews) it was listed as PC, 360, PS3.

@Matthew: Define "affordable". There's $300 affordable with Geforce 9800, there's $180 affordable with 8800GTs, there's $150 affordable with 9600 GTs, there's $90 affordable with 8600 GTs...

I'm with Matthew. I'm surprised people didn't know it was multiplatform.

I didn't know, but I guess I had assumed it would be on 360 and PS3. I didn't even think of PC.

And you know why I'm still playing TF2 on my 360. Stop rubbing it in, jerk.

The game informer that had the preview for this game said 360/PS3.

PC is new though.

huh I always assumed PC. I mean that is what what I'll be getting it for, after all these years I still don't like FPS with a gamepad.

It has shooting and melee mechanics along with the platforming, if you watch the trailers.

It don't really care about this game. It looks mighty good but I think it'll bore the hell out of me after a while. Climbing and running on buildings is OK but not during the whole game. Assassin's Creed taught me that.

Who ever thought this was PS3 exclusive? Youl'd have to be retarded to believe any "media" outlet reporting that.

Anyways, I'm just PRAYING this game is good, because I fucking love the concept more than you could imagine.

@JetSetLemming: That '$90 affordable' card sounds like it's in my (super-cheap) price range, but I'm not sure if it'll be enough. Any guesses as to how big the system requirements are going to be?

On a separate note, how amazing would multiplayer be for this? I'm thinking less like traditional deathmatches and more like parkour races- and just wait until the modders get their hands on this, too... *drools*

I thought this was PS3 exclusive. I guess I wasn't paying enough attention.

But now I can finally watch the trailer.
