This is for everyone who is getting into Seattle on Thursday before PAX starts and doesn't have plans yet.
We found this awesome restaurant and figured that I would let you guys know about it if you don't have plans for the Thursday night before PAX yet. If you're not going to PAX, sorry I'm spamming you with this.
So, there is a restaurant in Seattle called FareStart. Normally it is open only for lunch, and the idea behind the restaurant is that it takes homeless people and provides them with job training at a relatively high end restaurant so that they can enter the working world. On Thursdays they do a guest chef night where a prominent chef from the restaurant community comes in and does a 3 course dinner. While that sounds sketchy, the food is supposed to be amazing. It's also within walking distance of most of the hotels we're all staying at (6 blocks from the Sheraton at least).
So far we have 2 tables with reservations for 6:15 on Thursday night. If you guys don't have any plans, you should totally come eat with us. It is tasty, socially conscious, and pretty damn cheap. The full 3 course meal is only $25 (not including booze), and 100% of the proceeds go to the program.
The menu for that night is here:

Unfortunately, you need to make your own reservation. They're changeable, so if you can get even one more person, just make the reservation and then add people later. Any tables larger than 4 people are already gone, so the max you can have at a table is 4. Do it quickly, because these Guest Chef Nights fill up pretty fast. Once we get there we can see if we can just all be seated next to each other. If not, I plan on flinging bread at Dexter from across the restaurant.

Finally, the suggested attire is business casual. Nothing fancy.

However! I am looking for something to do on Sunday night! Specifically a place to stay, as my friends are leaving Sunday whereas I'm not leaving until early Tuesday. We could work something out maybe? ^_^

(# 33) on 08/06/2008 12:13
You can still get a table for two at 6:15 or 6:30, though. But you probably want to move on this quick.

I doubt it. I would just go with whatever you can. When we get there we are going to try to see if we can get seated at tables next to each other, but it may not happen. 15 minutes shouldn't make a huge difference.
