I'm sure by now, we've all read/heard/acted like we knew 1up's Orange Box PS3 preview. Surprisingly, they enjoyed it. While acknowledging framerate issues, their experience wasn't remotely close to the "slideshow" gameplay 1up endured. To copy pasta from the IGN preview:
"The framerate problems are most prominent in Half-Life 2: Episode Two. It's in this portion of The Orange Box (my personal favorite of the collection) that the most noticeable hiccups can be found. However, the drop from 30 frames per second is sporadic. You can go 10 minutes and have everything running perfectly, and then hit a few minutes that have some jitters. Again, none of it was enough to make me throw my controller in disgust.
Decisions, decisions. Knowing EA UK was behind the port makes the decision a little easier. Going into the potential purchase not giving a shit about HL2 or any of the Episodes doesn't. Portal runs fine. No word on TF2. So I ask, If TF2 is without issue too, are Portal and TF2 worth $60?

Unless it's quite a bit, I'd probably suggest a rental.
If you don't have a 360, Portal is worth the $350 plus $60 for the game anyway.

Think of how welcomed this game was when it was released a couple months ago. Sure, it's a 4 year old game, but we're not talking about a Farcry or a FEAR. This is HL2, plus Ep1 and Ep2. If you DO enjoy it, you are looking at a 25+ hour great game.
Personally, it did feel like a chore to play at times, but nothing that would keep me from finishing it. The presentation of the game and how they included puzzles into an FPS were my favorite parts of HL2. Portal was still my favorite part of Orange Box but I wouldn't spend $410 to play it *cough cough j00zt1n cough*
P.s.
I only own a PSTriples! : P
