I'll be pissed if I go into work tomorrow and look up a sku for this and don't find it either:
a.) in stock
b.) in the system at all
Better not be bullshitting Linde!
Nice find btw, lucky sumbis!
Is it wired or wireless?
Thats supposed to say sumbitch up there, horrible.
Holy shit, a Linde appears! How's Shacknews treating you?
You're not supposed to be here!
But I guess since you left so amicably, like a true gentleman, you get to do whatever you want.
Oh. Hori sticks. Cool.
I think it's on the VF5 stick for 360 also. If not, it is on the normal Hori 360 arcade stick but they are so damn hard to find.
Also, the stick is wired for all the consoles I believe. I heard you can use the PS3 stick on the PC too which would be pwnage.
Wow, no information about this anywhere. But you're saying the stores might have it locally? Maybe I'll go check tommorow, it's pretty much just a USB thing then, right?
And according to the GS site, the 360 pad dropped $20 as well, putting it at $40.
Yep, wired. And Giraffy, you can check local store availability on the website, y'know:
http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=64248
S'how I found mine.
Malachi, I plugged it in and it immediately detected it (even registered it as HORI FIGHTING STICK 3), but I have yet to try it -- I don't have Mugen anymore, so I'll have to think of something else.
Holy shit, it's Mxy! Work is going well. We had a fucking crazy busy week, all of us were in one place or another getting coverage. I was in San Francisco on Tuesday, kickin' it with Tiff, CTZ and Husky, which made for a great time. So all in all, quite groovy. How's you, sir?
And dammit Gorilla, just because I don't work here anymore doesn't mean I don't want to be part of the community! HOW DARE YOU SPEAK AGAINST ME
I WILL SLAY YOU
I STILL HAVE THAT POWER
Wedge, link? I couldn't find the 360 pad on GameStop's site to check for availability.
Wait, nevermind, I found it.
Nowhere. Shit!
Nice, I lazily just typed in Hori on the gs website, I didn't actually search for specific arcade sticks. I found one near my gs, so I'll definitely pick it up.
DAMN! Never seen it before in a store.
I want a HRAP3 but geez cheapest I found was $99.
Goddamn, nearest one in stock to me is over in Sammamish. Not unreasonably far away though... hmmm...
'Nuff said.
oh, and hugs. I think its really cool actually how you've made a decision to stay around in the community. I just saw Leigh Alexander on Kotaku, and there was no explanation why she left.
Destructoid has had a lot of douches, but it's always sad to see the good ones go. Thanks for sticking around in the little ways you can.
I wish they had better sticks available for the 360 like they do for the PS3. The EX2 is great but a Real Arcade Pro would be awesome.
These sticks are great when you want some MAME action. They plug right in with no need to install drivers on XP.
Leigh's hardly a douche; she just took on waaaay too much work. On top of Gamasutra, she also ran Worlds in Motion, regularly updated a hevily trafficked personal blog and did work for several print magazines. She left official-like because she felt like she wasn't doing enough.
But her shit at Kotaku is phenomenal, if you ask me. She's really raising the bar over there in terms of real news reporting. No game cakes on her mind, that's for damn sure.
Oh, and PS: I'll still be writing for the site from time to time. I'm thinking about passing in a feature in a couple of weeks, to that end.
Is it as awesome the X-Arcade stick?
@Necros:
I think it's better. I have smaller hands so the Japaneses sticks feel better. Also, I like the placement of the buttons. They're not straight across like in an American arcade.
I fucking love you linde, it seems that the arcade sticks from Hori have dropped in price at gamestop. thanks.
@ Linde
Whoops, when I said douche, I meant other people. You know, that one guy. wink wink
I meant to include her in the "good ones that go". I always loved her work, and still do. Just sad to see her leave. She hadn't posted anything since December, and I figured something was up. She seemed to be involved in a ton of different things, writing awesome features, so I wasn't surprised. And I agree: Her stuff on Kotaku is the real deal. That's a journalist if there ever was one.
Now I'm a douche for making confusing comments :(
Apologies around!
Shit, I actually feel really bad right now. Like a real prick.
Aw, don't sweat it. My bad for misunderstanding.
I've never seen it written out before. I always assumed it was, you know, HOARY, or perhaps, WHOREY.
At any rate, party at Linde's house, right?
(BTW: I'm dating a street fighter nut who doesn't like arcade sticks, prefers d-pads. Insane or crazy? You decide.)
as a proud owner of the 360 hori stick I must say it makes playing 95% of xbla games more fun.
seriously.
