The environments and the challenge they add sounds interesting... but unfortunately the rest of the game (as shown so far) sounds like many other games with the post-apocalyptic environments.
Also, isn't the whole "environmental lesson" being overdone a bit in games/movies? Isn't there any other way of approaching the issue rather than the usual "doom/gloom we're gonna ruin our Earth" thing?

This sounds an awful lot like Fallout 3. But then again, any game that will feature a post-apocalyptic world will be compared to F3. It may not have been the first game to use that setting, but it did it pretty damn well. If it was set during the Earth's plunge into chaos or immediately after, you could focus on humanity's adaption to the scary, new world while they try to rebuild their lives.
Of course, I could always just wait and see what else you had planned out haha.
