Wacom tablets are damn good. I own one too, welcome to the club. I'm used to traditional art, but digital stuff I'm also trying.

Step 5) Purchase additional Midol if symptoms outlast initial purchased quantity of said Midol.
What are you using to draw? If it's MSPaint, download GIMP or Paint.NET. If it's Flash, set the quality of the output higher.

May I also recommend openCanvas or PaintTool SAI, despite the fact they're not free (unless you appreciate expired trial versions), as they work beautifully with tablets.

What kind did you get? I use a Graphire 3 at home, and a Intuos at work. Although I'd love to get a cintiq.

Did you use the Stylus pen or the mouse? With the different pen stubs for the stylus pen, the gray one gets more response. I too have a wacon tablet & it's fun to use.

I have an intuous3, and I'm still getting used to the features, so it'll take about a month for me to actually be as good as I am freehand due to the whole "look at the screen not your hand thing" scares me; like riding a bike without training wheels the first time.
