Scarf: Developer Interview
4knuckleshuffle | 1:57 PM on 05.23.2009 5 comments

I've decided to give some more information about Scarf the artgame that I'm making. I shall be doing it by interviewing myself, even though Robert Summa seems to have the "talking to yourself" market monopolized.

Ian: Why did you decide to make this game?
Ian: I was interested in learning to code, and I thought I might as well make an art game.

I: Why is it called "Scarf"?
I: I can't tell you. It would ruin the point of the game.

I: How long will the game be?
I: I've planned to make it about five minutes on a playthrough, if you do everything right.

I: Who's making the game?
I: Just me, and my splintered personality.

I: When will it be out?
I: Sometime in July, I believe. I have exams coming up, so I can't work on it.

If you have any questions, post them, and I will respond.

Is it going to be fun?

It depends on your definition of fun. If you consider a consciousness raising experience to be fun, it will be.

Will it include dragons, uppercuts or a weird combination of the 2?

@Bwark-Kupo:
The game will expand your consciousness of art and the culture of artgames.

@Mentok the Mindtaker: That's in my next game.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

Avatar Origin: On my friend's forum, I changed my avatar one too many times, which pissed him off enough to set it to this and lock it. I've grown to like the image.
