After bouncing ideas around with my friend to create an "If You Love It, Change It" for SSB, we realized that only one thing needs changing with the gameplay. It needs fatalities. I would pay another 60 bucks to have Link brutally disembowel Pikachu. Or see Yoshi devour Mario. That would be FUCKING AWESOME. I know it's never going to happen, but we can dream, right? Here's how they would work. At the end of a 3+ player round, the person who scored highest would be able to finish the player who scored lowest. This would use the MK method of pressing a long string of buttons, followed by a brutal finish. In a two player round it would be the winner finishing the loser. There'd be multiple fatalities, each caused by a different button string. I have ideas for various characters: Mario: Immolating opponent with a large fireball. The opponent would be turned to ash, and their eyes would blink twice before falling into the pile. Similar to some cartoons. Pikachu: Giving opponent quick acting cancer with electrical radiation. A half hour cutscene would then commence, similar to the thousand paper cranes story. Damn, I'm warped... Yoshi: Yoshi would devour the opponent, and then vomit them up, half digested. I can't think of any more right now. If you can think of some, comment.
