Wind and Water: Puzzle Battles for Dreamcast is officially released!

(Note: This is NOT a review. I just want to get the word out)

It's a good day for Dreamcast fans today. The german publisher redspotgames officially released it's latest Dreamcast title Wind and Water: Puzzle Battle.

I'm guessing that about 90% of you don't know anything about the game. It's basically a puzzle game that has a similiar concept as Hexic HD. But not quite. What you have to do is rotate blocks of different colours to make 4 of them form a "diamond". These blocks then disappear and take any blocks touching with the same colour with them. To better understand, watch this video:

It shows the intro of the game and part of the story mode.

As most puzzle games, it's highly addictive. It has a massive story mode, complete with a Super Mario Brother 3 style world map. And if you eventually beat that, just get a friend to play the VS mode with you. Or play the time trail modes. Or try to master the different combo styles. In other words, there a lot to do in this game.

More info can be found here: www.wind-water.net

Got you interested in the game? Just head over to the publishers online shop (www.redspotgames.com/shop) and order a copy for the low low price of US$35.25 (without shipping).

$35.25 for a homebrew DC puzzle game? That sounds stupid to me.

It's not really homebrew. The production value is way higher.

Can't wait to get my copy of this game. It's been a long time since I've had a really good fast puzzle-based game (Ahh, the long nights of Magical Drop 3 bouts...)

Brought up my Dreamcast from home just for this very reason. Now if only it will get here.
