Every Friday a bunch of Destructoid folks get together to play video games. It's true. Things can get confusing when trying to get a lot of people together, so we try to squeeze all the info into one or two places.
We're the blog to organize Friday Night Fights for the Nintendo 3DS!
FNF is a weekly, community-run event where Dtoiders get together to play videogames online! Planning starts in the forums, followed by posts here in the cblogs and on the front page on Fridays. It's easy to get involved, so why not start today?!
<-- Read the blog for more info!
Like FNF itself, this cblog is run by the community, your hosts are listed below:
*Standing over his fireplace, smurfee mcgee removes his hand from the mantle and turns as he hears your footsteps. The tired eyes of this husk look into your depths effortlessly. He grins...or does he? He reaches into his pocket. A pause, then, his hand, gripping a large rectangular device of an unknown nature.* Good evening. I assume you're here for Friday Night Fights? Oh, this? This is the 3DS. It has ...*he smirks*...games. We can play them together if you wish.
The lovely folks over at NintendoFuse will be running a Kid Icarus Uprising tournament this month, and then a Mariokart 7 tournament 2-4 weeks before the Wii U comes out. Obviously the date on that is TBD. The prizes are awesome, (especially if you're a Nintendo fan) and include Paper Mario: Sticker Star, ZombiU, Kid Icarus AR Cards, Kid Icarus shirts, a Wii U console, Sonic All-stars Racing 2, and NintendoLand. So get to practicing with us. Links here and here. Do it.
Win some stuff, eh?
In case you're new to Friday Night Fights, I'll sum it up: It's basically a bunch of Dtoiders getting together to play some games. Pretty simple stuff. If someone has a game that they want to play online with others, it can be posted here or in this blog. That's the easiest way to get a game going. Now, I'm talking about ANYONE. If you have something you want to play, let me or Wolfy-Boey know, and we'll put it in the blog and the forum. Cake.
Just do it like this:
Game: Name of the game. Host: Your Dtoid username/Twitter. Friend Code: It's just easier to exchange friend codes. Time: EST (Eastern Standard Time) Is the...standard around here.
Game: Mariokart 7
Time: 8:00 P.M. EST Host: Wolfy-Boey Friend Code: 5327-1072-2012 Community Code: 22-4755-7110-555 Twitter:@Wolfy_Boey (If you go by a different name on twitter, please inform me. Thank you.
FOR MARIO KART 7 PLAYERS: When playing Mario Kart 7 we will be using community feature to play together. To join us, simply enter the Dtoid community code (For races: 43-8816-8269-4512 OR 22-4755-7110-5555) and wait in the group. Please try to be patient and wait for other players, as once a Grand Prix starts players cannot join until the entire tournament is finished. Each group can only have up to eight players, but there can be an infinite amount of groups playing at one time in each community. Now, before you try to join a group check how many groups are playing already. If you see one or groups playing, but when you join everything is empty, then the match has already begun. Try leaving and then joining again in a few minutes. An easier way to do all this is to exchange friend codes and spam the "Join Game" feature on your friend list.
Everything is simply easier when your on our friend's list. So much better.
