About
Every Friday a bunch of Destructoid folks get together to play video games. It's true. Things can get confusing when trying to get a lot of people together, so we try to squeeze all the info into one or two places.

We're the blog to organize Friday Night Fights for the Nintendo 3DS!

FNF is a weekly, community-run event where Dtoiders get together to play videogames online! Planning starts in the forums, followed by posts here in the cblogs and on the front page on Fridays. It's easy to get involved, so why not start today?!

<-- Read the blog for more info!

Like FNF itself, this cblog is run by the community, your hosts are listed below:

Non-3DS FNF

Playing the Nintendo 3DS with others not your thing? Try our PS3, PC, European and 360 counterparts!

Looks like we're back for another one of these. How about that? With the recent surge of new console games, and the impending release of a certain whole new console, there have seemingly been less and less participators in the 3DS side of Friday Night Fights. I think it may also have to do with the lack of new mulitplayer games coming out for the 3DS. It's been awhile.
So, with me participating on other FNFs, and definitely taking part in the Wii U FNFs to come, I've been contemplating making the 3DS event a weekend thing. I want that to get that going again anyway, and it seems like a laid-back schedule would be better for this. Chillin' on your couch on Saturday seems like a good 3DS time.
Thoughts? New hosts? Cocktails?

The low-down:
In case you're new to Friday Night Fights, I'll sum it up: It's basically a bunch of Dtoiders getting together to play some games. Pretty simple stuff. If someone has a game that they want to play online with others, it can be posted here or in this blog. That's the easiest way to get a game going. Now, I'm talking about ANYONE. If you have something you want to play, let me or Wolfy-Boey know, and we'll put it in the blog and the forum. Cake.

Just do it like this:

Game: Name of the game.
Host: Your Dtoid username/Twitter.
Friend Code: It's just easier to exchange friend codes.
Time: EST (Eastern Standard Time) Is the...standard around here.

You can exchange Friend codes here, or here.

Tonight, yeah.

Game: Mariokart 7
Time: 8:00 P.M. EST
Host: Wolfy-Boey Friend Code: 5327-1072-2012
Community Code: 22-4755-7110-555
Twitter: @Wolfy_Boey (If you go by a different name on twitter, please inform me. Thank you.

Game: Kid Icarus: Uprising
Time: 11:00 P.M. EST
Host: smurfee_mcgee Friend Code: 5284-1410-9454
Twitter: @smurfee_mcgee

Note: I'm sort of 50/50 on Kid Icarus. I have some stuff to do later, and I might jump in with the 360 crowd again. Just FYI. -smurfee

FOR MARIO KART 7 PLAYERS: When playing Mario Kart 7 we will be using community feature to play together. To join us, simply enter the Dtoid community code (For races: 43-8816-8269-4512 OR 22-4755-7110-5555) and wait in the group. Please try to be patient and wait for other players, as once a Grand Prix starts players cannot join until the entire tournament is finished. Each group can only have up to eight players, but there can be an infinite amount of groups playing at one time in each community. Now, before you try to join a group check how many groups are playing already. If you see one or groups playing, but when you join everything is empty, then the match has already begun. Try leaving and then joining again in a few minutes. An easier way to do all this is to exchange friend codes and spam the "Join Game" feature on your friend list.

Everything is simply easier when your on our friend's list. So much easier.

This week sees the release of one of the biggest games of the year: History--Legends of War: Patton. Many of you will probably be playing that tonight, so I may or may not see you. If, however, you didn't get it, there are still other FNFs happening. Like this one here!

So, forget about General What's-his-face, and play some 3DS with us!

Have a look at those beauties. Aren't they something? Now, read this. Now that you've realized you can't have one, how's your day? Importers: you smell.
Why is America always left out of these kinds of things? There's a bunch of 3DS and 3DSXL models that haven't come to this country. We have money here, Nintendo. It may be worth...a little less than it used to be...but we have some! I promise!

Let's play games, I guess. So you can look at your lame 3DS or XL and slowly grow contempt for it, while also playing stuff with other Dtoiders. But mostly for the contempt.

Video from thebitblock. Because eBay rules for capture boards.

At the very least, this will be better than the PS3 FNF blog. BOOM.

You know the drill: videogames. They will be hosted by some jerk, and will be played by maybe a couple other jerks, too.

Oh, while we're here, I want to say to Gearbox (because they totally read this blog,) C'MON! iOS is getting a Borderlands title, so hook it up! 3DS could use something like that. Like, yesterday. I'll give you money for it. Promise.

Other games:

Off-campus contest:
Last chance- The lovely folks over at NintendoFuse will be running a Mariokart 7 tournament that begins October 27th. The prizes are awesome, (especially if you're a Nintendo fan) and include a Wii U console, Sonic All-stars Racing 2, and New Super Mario Bros. U. So get to practicing with us. Link here.

Time again for the Friday times. This time the times the same as last time. The times that the times are this time are posted as Eastern Standard time. I just wanted you to be sure, so that this time everyone can be sharing the times at the same time lest the hosts get tired of wasting time and their time runs out thus your time expires to share the same times at that time.

Okay. OH WAIT. Destructoid is doing some Extra Life charity streaming this weekend! You can read more about it here, where they also have better games to play. Very important, folks.

Games?

Friday time. Are you ready to do the damn thing?
I assume those with a 3DS have been doing things with it. Like the Lego Lord of the Rings demo, for instance. Or maybe you tried the new DLC for NSMB2? Or maybe you don't have a 3DS yet, in which case I'll point you in this direction, towards the sequel to the wonderful Pushmo. In any case, there are things to do and games to play. So whip it out and let's have a competition.
