Making Old Crap New Crap
360hellance | 10:55 PM on 10.09.2008 5 comments

I just finished beating Gears of War for the 2nd time on insane, this time on my computer, just as a freshener before Gears 2. I'm just saying this because my computer is old as hell. Its a T3302 Emachines i got for christmas like 5 years ago, and then it couldnt even do Diablo 2. I saved up me pocket change and eventually ended up with a X-fi Xtreme audio soundcard, a GeForce 7600 GS graphics car and 2 gigs of ram. I started out with an unbelievably crappy gaming pc and turned it into something that made Gears run on Max settings like it was its bitch. But now my question is... when is this thing going to be killed? I tried Crysis but the game was boring as sin (not on my cpu, my friends alienware laptop). Some answers would sure help, and if anyone has suggestions on good startup cpu's for upgrading for gaming, please tell me =D

Hopefully more than 16 people will check out your blog soon. ;)

While this blog isn't written well, it's a blog nonetheless. Let's take a break from being assholes, or let's put our energy on someone who's really being a dick, not a new guy.

Listen, 360hellance. We don't take kindly to single paragraph blogs because it pushes other people's work down. Other work that people have put their sweat and tears into to (OK, maybe not that extreme). While you do have some content in this, it's better that you hide it, work on it a little more, and bring it back later.

If you want it to be seen, make sure you keep this one hidden and start all over. Also, read the c-blog rules. They're right there on your page when you're writing. It'll keep you from failing more.

I can't really offer you much in terms of advice for setting up a gaming PC. Mine is a Compaq Presario from like 1998, and it can barely run StarCraft without lagging in online games. There, I have bared my shame.

Expand your stuff a bit, write in paragraph form, and throw in a few relevant/funny/completely absurd pictures and you'll be just fine. Oh, and get an avatar. Welcome to Destructoid.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
