Title screen.
Quite possibly THE most disturbing game ever made, Chiller is a late 80's light gun game comprised of four "rooms" where you shoot at moving and stationary targets, as well as parts of the background scenery.
Your clues.
Before each room, the game shows you a "clue" screen. If you hit all off the special targets in a room, you get a bonus "slot machine" round, where you can earn points and free games.
The first room, BEFORE I began shooting.
Here's where it gets disturbing. In the very first room, you are greeted with several injured people bound and shackled into various torture devices. "Maybe I have to save them!" you might think to yourself. OH NO.
You are the one who gets to torture them. Well aimed shots will systematically mutilate, maim and dismember these innocent(?) people, and you are rewarded with points for doing so.
GOOD shooting? Uhhh......
Not only are you supposed to shoot the people, who are helpless to even dodge your shots, but you can activate the torture devices by shooting the handles. Drop a guillotine, squish a head, lower a man to a hungry crocodile or rip people in half on the rack.
Room 2, the Rack Room.
Then, after the depravity and insanity of the first two rooms, your are thrown into an utterly ridiculous "Hallway" that resembles a chase scene from an episode of Scooby Doo.
Room 3, Hallway. Scooby Dooby Doo, where are you?
The fourth and final screen is a seemingly normal graveyard, complete with bats, zombie hands, and a woman half buried in the ground with her arms chained. Wait, what? The first time you shoot her, her shirt flies off, then her bra, then her head. Holy crap this game is nuts.
Room 4 and its unfortunate woman.
Now minus a shirt.
Now minus a shirt AND a fucking HEAD.
OK! So, who wants a fully 3d, current gen remake of this game? Huh? Anybody? Anyone? Jack Thompson? Didn't think so.
This game actually got released on the NES, if you can believe it. Some of the graphics were changed, but nevertheless, it exists.
Such a weird game. The funny thing about the NES version is that they tried to give the game a plot.
I remember this game from somewhere. I might have played it when I was a kid. I was into a lot of crazy stuff.
I didn't know they used MS Paint for arcade games back then...
For real, MS Paint is the first thing that comes to mind.
It looks like MS Paint
This looks right up Chad Concelmo's alley.
5/5 Dolphins!
