Look, I'm weak.

Sony may have dropped the ball like a wide receiver whose hands were covered in Crisco this past year, but, like Don Corleone, they made me an offer I couldn't refuse. It wasn't a nice offer though, it was a dirt encrusted, sucker punch tactic that caught me off guard and made me panic. You see, the price drop was the diversion from the flanking of the Emotion Engine being yanked. That's a huge deal for me. There are a bunch of PS2 games I have yet to play and there are some I still play. The upscaling done on PS2 games on the PS3 is pretty fantastic and I don't want to lose compatibility to some wonky software emulation. Come August, that's all you get!

I knew I would eventually get a PS3, but I didn't think it would be so soon. There are games coming that I want (Little Big Planet, Folklore, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Haze) and as they say, you have to strike when the iron is hot - so I did, and struck my credit card with a $499.99 charge from Amazon. Hey, at least there's no tax or shipping; that's a bonus, right? Anybody else taken the plunge or feeling the itch? Let this be your support thread.

I had the tiniest tinge in the back of my mind after they cut me off from UT3 the other day, but then I remembered, if UT3 ends up being the holy living end, I do have Boot Camp installed on my iMac.

DVDDesign, UT3 isn't ps3 exclusive, it's only coming out first for the ps3. GET WITH IT!

Talladega Nights is total shit, but make sure you get those free Blu-ray movies.

Motorstorm is really fun online, but a pretty shallow single player experience. I've been playing through Resistance single player just to get enough experience to not get totally pwned online.

I'm really looking forward to Heavenly Sword myself. Hopefully, it doesn't suck.

I'm all over the free blu-ray movies. Amazon is also giving me a free copy of Resident Evil: Apocalypse (they were doing Memento last week :[) and a remote. I have no use for RE, so I'll probably have a contest and give it away.

@A1HK, Your point is valid. That is, IF the PS3 was my only system. I have a Wii too, and I still haven't played Paper Mario. There is some Wii and DS stuff that will keep me busy in the meanwhile.

I'm pleased with my PS3 and Wii purchase. Just because you're not doesn't mean others have to agree with your opinion.

arrggggh d why are u making me want to get a ps3... if I didn't already have a ps2 I'd have one already but I'm not buying one just for the upscaling. I just have to tell myself:

blue dragon, bioshock, ut03, halo3, assassins creed.

that is my mantra. to not buy things I can't afford. although I have a job interview today!
