Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Hai! Have fun guy!
I can't wait to hear all about it. One part of me is very excited about it, and the other part says I'm going to put it down halfway through the second level because of waggle minigames.
Ahh, homophone association.
Waggle minigames bad. This game doesn't have that.
You should post a review when you're finished.
I understand what you're saying because on the surface that's how it comes out. However, the game is all about puzzle solving and plays like an old school adventure game.
@DanielMachine
Thanks man and I'll be sure to conjure the spirits to do one for me.
CRANK!
I find this troublesome.
Actions/solving puzzles using the WiiMote = Mini-Games?
Amazing photoshop! Much love.
Where'd you get it? Local electronic shop, or did you Amazon it?
Gamestop. I stopped trusting Amazon on games I really want because they get flaky with release/ship dates.
Thanks for the response.
Now I'm hungry for some Caramel Almond Monkey Crunch.
Best shop ever
I actually blame cough syrup for alot of things.
Crap, my subconscious mind is manifesting itself in real life. We're all screwed.
also, GREAT NEW BANNER D! I WONDER WHO DID THAT AMAZING WORK!!!!
*pants asplode*
With that said, My impressions:
I didn't think I'd have a problem with how cute this game is but if you like your graphics non-cartoony, this game isn't for you. To the people that say the waggle is a gimmic, I assure you it's definitely not. There is one difference b/t Zack and Wiki "waggle" and the usual "waggle.." And that fundamental difference is that the game DOES NOT SHOW you how to apply your tools. Most waggle games will spell out exactly how to waggle but b/c the execution is so intuitive, the game leaves it up to you the gamer to use the tool. Difficulty definitely ramps up nicely but I've played through about an hour of the game so I can't say how it goes in the end directly.
So, if you absolutely are allergic to cartoony graphics, then I wouldn't really suggest this game for you, but even if you don't like the style, you can appreciate how good the game looks. It's very vibrant. I have a feeling that part of the reason why they went for such a cartoony and colorful style is b/c they want to put the focus of the game on puzzle solving, not pixel hunting for tools.
Anyways, back to zack and wiki, if you're wii is collecting dust, buy or at the very least rent this game, it's definitely engaging and fun..
