Next week sees the release of Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure for Wii. I'm sure many have written it off as just another throwaway kiddie title dumped onto the Wii to capture the casual market; I call them cynics. What Capcom is doing here is putting a delicious candy shell over what is most assuredly a refreshing, yet devilish delight for the hardcore.
How do rabbit pirates, a flying monkey sidekick, a female antagonist, point-and-click puzzling adventure, not-tacked-on wiimote controls and a price point of $39.99 sound? If you're not feeling even a little something stir in the dark pit of your soul, check your pulse, man. Seriously, this is a game that needs to get noticed so it doesn't end up an unsung gem like Psychonauts. Did I mention it's heavily influenced by classics like Maniac Mansion, Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle, etc.?
I won't ramble on and on anymore about how much you guys suck if you don't buy it and if it doesn't sell enough copies, the world is going to rip open, unleashing an army of Sarlaac Pit Monsters; I'll let the videos do the talking.
WOAH! Thanks for the reminder D. I'm totally screwed this fall/winter. There are way too many games coming out that are quality. Right after this is Ratchet and Clank.
I still haven't played Paper Mario either. Then Galaxy.
It does look like a lot of fun; brings back memories of the old LucasArts point & click titles. Shame they had legal issues with the original game title.
This will end up being one of the first games I buy once I finally get a Wii. Glad to see a company acknowledge how well point and click adventures could work on that system.
Now where's my Lucasarts Adventure Archives compilation?
Hey, you know what? I thought about skipping this one for the time being, until I noticed that big fat bold $39,99 price. As a cheap bastard, I looked it up on local store sites and guess what! It's not even fucking listed!!
Play.com lists it "for release on 07/12/2007" for 51 euros, so that's $73.60....
Point-and-click-adventure-game? Lot's of humor (I hope)? Wii? And with a price tag of about 40 Dollars? I'm on!
Hopefully this will not cost 60 Euros in Germany... But even then I'm going to buy it.
I honestly don't understand the appeal of this game, but it seems to have nice following. It would be nice to see some more IP enter the market and do well.
Really looking forward to this. Looks like the perfect game to play with the fiance, too, especially with the coach-mode they mentioned. Good times next week!

Grow up, ninja boy!
And I totally forgot this comes out next weeeeeeeeeek!

Screwed.
But Bwii reviews seem to not be doing so good..

Katamari is good, but it's the same game you've played on PS2; go with Zack & Wiki. Plus the Wii is quieter and won't explode.

Fuck!
Edumate meh.
I can see into the future
Too many titles I want in November. I think I'll get this one and hold off on a few of the others.
Awesome, you sold me it with the influences.
