[When we're looking for blogs on a specific topic, we'll put out a Bloggers Wanted call. Check out the blog prompt, write your own response in the Community Blogs and tag it with the "Bloggers Wanted Essay Response" tag, and you may see your blog promoted to the front page. -- JRo]
This week, the Destructoid editors will be listing the games we're most looking forward to in this upcoming year. Why don't you do the same? Pick one game for any platform that you're really excited to play in this upcoming year, and tell us why you're so pumped for it.
To participate, just write a C Blog, title it "What I Want in 2012: [The Game's Title]", and select the Bloggers Wanted Essay Response tag. Throughout the week, keep an eye on the blogs and get some discussions going with your fellow Dtoiders, and make sure you look for promoted blogs from last week's topic, Predictions.
Jonathan Ross is an Associate Editor in Los Angeles who is obsessed with capybaras. Like, seriously, obsessed. If he's not playing Team Fortress 2 or getting into arguments about why PC gaming is superior, he's either off having a fancy dinner with lots of expensive wine, or sitting on the Destructoid IRC complaining that's he's not off having a fancy dinner.
Likes: Chrono Trigger, Street Fighter, Steam, everything Blizzard and Valve have ever made, playing Angry Birds on the toilet.
Meet the rest of the team

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Amen brother. I didn't mind it as a mindless Fable clone, but ultimately it was a terrible Dragon Age game and I yearn for going back to Origins.
As for 2012 myself? I can't wait for the Vita itself. There are a ton of great releases that are peppered in (MGS: Rising, etc), but nothing trumps a new device for me.
I think I agree with you, but I think of it more as bringing the people who have gotten into "casual" games over to the more "hardcore" side of it. I'm sure as those people become less satisfied with the experiences of more mainstream, casual games they will be looking for something deeper that you can find with the less mainstream games.
Also, Mass Effect 3, Bioshock Infinite, and the Vita! (most Bioshock Infinite, though. That game looks bananas)
I mean, the reason of bloggers wanted is to see the great ideas of the Dtoid blogging community and gives the reward of it's hard work by putting on the front page. It's really rare to see a promoted blog comparing when this idea first started, i'm not saying that this is a bad idea or it should be discarded, but would be really awesome to see more community blogs on the front page like it used to be
I tonite share you're criticisms.
All I want in 2012 is for tristrix to come back. I miss that guy.
Oh and other stuff tblogi may or may not write in a blog.
The Monthly Musings pumped by Anthony were my primary reason to actually start writing Cblogs. When one of those made into the main page I went nutz and started to write even more.
The Bloggers Wanted being weekly is a nice boost to keep the themes interesting and fresh, but it is kinda rare to see one pop up on the main stage. They don't need to be THAT good, but it's nice to see the heart of the gamer on it, sometimes that's all that counts.
