Last week saw another high profile gaming release -- Gears of War 3. I'm sure you all heard about it.
What I'm interested in this week is a game you've played, whether it be commercial or indie, arcade or console or PC, that you think almost no one else has ever heard of. Tell me something about it! How you loved it, how you hated it, what it did for you -- what I'm most interested in is hearing about obscure games that had a very limited audience. (So, don't write about Minecraft.)
For me, one that immediately comes to mind was this awesome arcade cabinet my local mall arcade had for a while. It was a giant cab with a ping pong ball gun, and you shot ping pong balls at monsters that popped up around this castle/graveyard landscape. While you were fighting off the monsters, a hand was slowly reaching out of a door to grab a princess. If the hand got to the princess, it stole her into the castle and it was game over. I have no idea what it was called, I've never seen it since then, but man, did I think it was awesome as a kid.
Well-written and insightful blogs have a chance of being promoted to the front page. If you want to participate, just write a C Blog, title it "Obscurity: [Your Blog's Title]", and select the Bloggers Wanted Essay Response tag. Throughout the week, keep an eye on the blogs and get some discussions going with your fellow Dtoiders, and make sure you look for promoted blogs from last week's topic, TGS.
