This video has moved! Try our new Destructoid HD video section

It may not show any gameplay whatsoever, but that doesn’t keep Blizzard’s latest Wrath of the Lich King cinematic trailer from being any less awesome. The video shows paladin-turned-Lich-King Arthas wandering around his realm of Northrend with his dead father’s voice providing narration. After some contemplation on a snowy cliff, Artas summons a giant bone dragon which then flies over his assembled undead hoard.

There might not be very much action, but everything in the video looks incredible. So watch it. Now.

HAWT.

..or not, hawhawhaw.

But yeah, looks like they'll be pushing the lore a lot more in this one. Which I kinda look forward to. Awesome cinematic.

I'm a pretty big Warcraft lore nerd, so I really enjoyed this cinematic. I've been in the beta and, while I haven't done much in Northrend, I can safely say that you'll be seeing a lot of the Lich King via quests, cameos in dungeons, etc.

Also should note: To this day, there hasn't been a single gnome in any of the 3 WoW Cinematics. They should be. Gnomes ftw, imo. I always wanted to roll a Gnome pally... :/

Gnomes must die. Your kind is a horrid race of beast men that are not worthy of the air they breath!

@Kain ..indeed, gnomes are worthy of the air they breath. Clearly, gnomes earn all the air they breath. The air they breath is well deserved. They even developed more environmentally friendly Mechanostriders to help clean the air they breath. :3

Has there EVER been a WoW trailer that showed gameplay? Cause, I mean, that would be pretty fucking odd. Maybe in-game footage of fly-by on monsters and the environment, but actual gameplay?

No, no no no, I don't think that'll do.

@Jetsetlemming: does thw word cinematic sound familiar to you?

Also, I was more impresed by the WoW and Burning Crusade trailers than this one.

I've yet to see a bad CGI cinematic that was made by Blizzard.

I would love to see a Diablo CG movie. Now diablo 2? That had some bitchin cutscenes. Act 4, opening movie. Nuff said.

Blizz definatly makes some good CGI movies and this one is no different. I think the ending of the Burning Crusade CGI trailer was better, but this is good too. Also, all gnomes should want to die, I mean come on they walk around smelling ass all day why would you want to live?

(I know you probably meant the actual claw of a bear, but the pastries are so much more delicious.)
