I've already been banned....as I don't/didn't play Diablo 3. Started playing Lollipop Chainsaw yesterday thought, it's quite fun, as was expected.
Remember the good old days when you could do whatever you wanted with the thing you bought because you owned it?
I miss the days of cheat codes and single player and multiplayer modes being entirely separate things. *sigh*
And what if I just want to play the game without having to be connected on the Internet, Blizzard? Would you ban me from Battle.net?

sigh - Really wish D3 had an non-battle.net mode so that we could develop TCs. Played through a couple of good D2 TCs over the last few weeks.

I've never noticed any. Of course, it's not really a competitive game so there isn't much to gain outside of cheating for more gold, and you'd want to do that solo anyway.

Why do they think that banning you from the game you payed real life money for is a good idea that won't bite them in the ass? Why not just put cheaters on a black list so they can't trade in the RMAH?

This game is ok until you get to Inferno, there all it's issue are amplified and you can see that they didn't play test shit! But I still can't stop playing...it's like crack!
But it may get old soon to just die over and over again because of the random elite stats.

Egh, that's really disappointing. "Oh, you payed $60 to play our game? Too bad, you can't play it anymore." Really why there should've been an offline mode, that way online bans could happen without denying a costumer's ability to play the game they payed for. And you know, while I don't condone hacking to gain an advantage over other players in multiplayer (especially since there's the action house to worry about), I'm entirely okay with cheating just to goof around. Anyone remember Super Smash Bros. Melee's debug menu? Good times there.

That exploit is an elaborate hoax to get players all worked up over a rollback. There's a thread on the forums that explains it fairly well and even offers up an extensive bit of evidence. Regardless,there will be no rollback. Because the exploit isn't real. Also, these bans started before the "exploit" was even a thing.

I encountered some kind of exploit where the trade window delivers a different item than the one in the trade box. I spent 400,000G on some gloves (and I was *extremely* careful to make sure they were the ones I wanted when looking in the trade window) only to get an item called "Troll's Strike" instead.
Hopefully my ticket gets the fucker banned. Asshole.

The issue seems to be with the liberal use of the term "cheater" as any modification of the game.
It seems like bliz doesn't want any modding community anymore, not that modders ever did anything.

I thought blizz's always online feature was suppose to mitigate cheaters? Guess it can't even do that, now they have to hand out bans to lock people out of their games.

I will be beyond pissed if any of the items I bought off the auction house disappear because they were dupes..uhhh then give me my money back Blizzard.. I got screwed a lot in Diablo 2 when they deleted hacked items.

Seriously, this effects the single player game? Holy crap, that's just... wrong. I kind of support cheating out of idealism, I loved the days when games actually had cheats built in to them and generally added to a games longevity quite a bit. The only games that seem to still do this Naughty Dog games and GTA.

When I played Diablo 2 back in the day, it did ruin the online experience a bit when people were duplicating items, making bots to sell stuff and other nonsense. I can understand where they're coming from on that end of the spectrum. Still though, we paid for this game and should be able to use it offline and do whatever we please when its not hurting anyone else's experience.

I have already heard of folks using bots to stalk the auction house and buy cheap items and sell back for a profit. It will be interesting though how they will determine some cheaters who just game the system.
Glad to hear Blizzard is finally banning cheaters, but if they had just allowed most of us to play offline, this wouldn't be happening. I had my account hacked, rolled back, and pretty much gave up on the game as I lost so much progress, and this was after never playing a single public match.
They count things like smaa injectors or shader effects to make the game not look like ass as "modifications". Just warning anyone using Dark.
It's nice to know that Blizzard can ban you from playing a game you bought for not playing it the way they want you to play to cope with a problem they created themselves by forcing you to always be online when playing.

i can be quite cynical at times, and i agree that the main reasoning for the tight regulations is so blizzard can make more money.
