I'm not going to argue how much control Activision has over other aspects of the company (from what I've seen, and I follow Blizzard closely, it's minimal at best)but when it comes to release schedule both sides have openly stated the ball is in Blizzard's court.

In before hipster angst spews the Blizzard and/or Activision hate in the....ah damn. I wasn't fast enough.
The further time goes on, the less interested I am in Diablo 3. Don't get me wrong, it looks good. Perhaps not as good as the previous games, but better in many respects as well.
Torchlight 2 is more appealing, which surprises me. Perhaps it's the inclusion of multiplayer.

Yawn.. between Torchlight 2, the centralized battlenet drm (even for SP), recent changes, and TWELVE FUCKING YEAR WAIT (for a "million clicks" hack 'n slash, lawlz), I just don't give ashit anymore.

@Evil Champ - Enjoy it, since half a dozen major mechanics have been ripped-out or totally redesigned since its release.
Diablo 2 is the only Blizzard game I'v spent much time playing, and as much as I loved it, Diablo 3 is something I'm only passingly interested in. I'm sure it'll be another masterpiece of design and programming, but I'd be damned surprised if it inspires the same degree of loyal fanaticism with today's kids the same way its predecessors did 10-12 years ago.
