Blink 182 DLC is now available for download for Rocksmith. The pack includes "Dammit", "What's My Age Again?" and "All the Small Things", I presume those are the "good" ones. Each track can be purchased individually for $2.99 on PSN or 240 MS points on XBL.
Good news for fans, I suppose, business as usual for the rest of you.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I have to disagree about it defeating the point. The main selling point of Rocksmith is that it can teach you to play. It sounds kind of obvious, but a big part of learning to play is getting the idea in your head that it's possible to play guitar. A lot of people I know think that musical ability is a binary "you have it or you don't" thing, and an easy to play, recognizable song goes a long way towards convincing them that anyone can play practice.
My roommate loves Radiohead, so as soon as he first tried the game, he went straight for Bodysnatchers. He had never touched a guitar in his life, and it's a fairly complex riff, so he obviously didn't sound anything like the song, and was having a lot of trouble progressing to the point where he would sound good. Then he started trying the career mode, and the first song to come up was Next Girl by Black Keys, which is really easy, but a memorable riff. As soon as he first got the riff down completely, he got really into the game. Starting with an easy song made it a lot easier to get the idea into his head that it was possible to play guitar like the bands he listened to.

Umm Yeah... 40% of the players are 40-50. (~80% 30-50) They need to be aware of this dynamic when rolling out the DLC. The songs I enjoy the most are obviously the ones I already know. (I had never even HEARD of the Black Keys before playing this game. Yeah, I'm OLD.)
