It'd probably not look as good in 2.5D though.
If it actually went Tekken 3D I'd not buy it though.
In this thread: someone who played Super Street Fighter II when it came out, and loves any type of fighting game (3D or not), and likes dubs as long as they're better than subs.
Just because you can distinguish good voice acting in another language, and bad acting in your native tongue, it doesn't automatically make you a weaboo.
Either way, I'm glad a number of developers are still committed to 2D games, and I hope more publishers realise there's still a lot of potential in 2D gaming.
Speaking of, now that I've beaten Starcraft 2's campaign, I need to get back into BlazBlue's online fighting scene. I expect it to start out with me losing dozens of matches in a row.

It just needs to be released on the DSiWare already... I hope it will later today.
It looks too good. It's very nice to see 2D animation in full HD. It's a rarity. And amazing.
Miyazaki is a great talent, but not all of his films are fun. He's also somewhat of a old ludite, who refuses to use computers, for they are evil. Now, while this might sound like a good idea, any artist that can master more mediums stands to benefit overall. As the anime market shrinks, while I agree that such skill should be preserved, with less people coming into such industries, they will need all the varied skills possible.
Blazblue is a cool game and I have love for 2D games too, but it will never be as popular as SFIV, because its stuck in its limited design choice. Blazblue in 3D would be interesting to watch, because by and large, its about bringing the artstyle and gameplay across well. Again, many of us were all shit skeptical, when SFIV was first announced. Capcom cleverly got it right, melding both 2D and 3D nicely.
I think Blazblue could rock the world in 3D, but the core problem is that japan lacks 3D animators that can animate well enough in 3D programs. Capcom and Namco, have the skills and resources to get what they need (hence their upcoming co-lab games), being more global minded and invested in such tech, but Arc would struggle, just as SNK did for KoF: Mamxium Impact, to get the high standard of 3D expected for games. Its also still the case that many small japanese studios still struggle with 3D animation and textures, be they in games or anime. It leaves a very PS2 or lesser 3D taste in gamers mouths.
