Black Ops II's villain is the 'messiah of the 99%'
Now why would Activision publish a game in which the downtrodden, working class masses are led by a murderous monster of a man, hell-bent on demolishing our proud American society? Do I detect a subtle message that the angry poor are naught but gullible puppets that should listen to their corporate overlords?
I know, I know, I'm being way too cynical, but with Activision, it can be difficult not to be that way.
Black Ops II treads the topical line by having its central villain hailed as a hero by the poor. A bit like Bane in the new Batman movie, or Electro in the Spider-Man comic a while back. The above trailer shows how he's manipulating the class divide, and threatens to wipe out the civilized world.
