(And the game has already been patched twice btw)
On another note, I don't get why people would be upset about not getting DLC. $15 for five maps? Hard to believe anyone would pay that.
Look at the size of a CoD map pack on the Xbox 360. Look at the size of the Wii's internal flash memory. Remember that not all that memory is available, as some is consumed by game saves, some is consumed by the Wii's various OS files (all those different IOS files, for example), and some may be bad. Games use some of that memory when running, as well (such as the main executable being copied into internal flash memory). Now this doesn't even touch on stuff like Wiiware that can be moved to an SD card. This is all stuff that has to be held in Wii internal memory. (Yes, I count game saves in this category, because locked saves are fairly common for Wii games. Supposedly, all games involving friends codes have locked saves because friend code information is kept inside the save, for example.)
Yes, the file size of the Wii maps can be smaller. A lower maximum resolution means lower resolution textures can be used. As well, the Xbox 360 files are quite likely a bit wasteful, as developers expect plenty of available space. But any changes to the map files will take work, and should require more testing just to make sure everything still works fine.
Conduit 2 will be getting patches if needed (it will be needed)
But it's nice to finally see that Nintendo is getting its head out from its ass :)
Other than that, it's pretty damn solid from the bit I've played at a friend's house. I expected it to be shit, but it's full fledged.
so dlc is no problem for the wii.
