I dig the new art style. It could look like anything as long as it keeps that addictive runner gameplay.
When the bit trip games came out, retro graphics were weird. Runner looked different. Now retro is popular, so would runner still stand out?

I think an even slightly different name would be better. Something like "Runner 2.0". That's really my only problem with the game right now. Why drop the "Bit.Trip" part but stick to making it a numbered sequel? The numbered sequel seems to imply that you should expect more of the same with a few new additions, but this seems to be way more than that.
I absolutely love Bit Trip Runner and the rest of the Bit Trip series. However, I have no qualms with them making non-pixel-based games. A part of what makes the Bit Trip series so great is how creative it is, and if they just keep retreading the same stuff it would stale that creative feeling.
I really didn't like the art style at all at first, but it seems to be coming together very nicely. Now my only complaint is that they made a direct sequel to one of the BIT.TRIP games, but they probably won't do the same for the rest. All of those games were great, but it's likely we will only ever see a sequel to the most popular one.
I like the look of those bonus stages, but the main game looks so... "generic CG kids show on Qubo."

Hipster trash...new style looks like ass too. These games never had any substance, with the flavor of the moment appeal of 'retro' styled games waning expect the series to stumble through a few misfired attempts at establishing a more enduring identity and then fade away altogether banished to the isle of shit where the series will fit comfortably nestled between the pet rock and acid washed jeans.
