Bit Transmission episode 6 with Capcom's Seth Killian photo

Honestly, we should just call this episode, "The Jonathan Holmes Show" because that's really what it is. Listening to Holmes' passion for all things Capcom pretty much struck me dumb as he consistently managed to ask every question I could think of before I'd even really thought about it. It's a good interview and will no doubt sate much of the lust for everyone's favorite Wii fan that we've been hearing about.

Lots of really great stuff in here. Marvel at how Capcom managed to go through all sorts of licensing issues to bring you a new fighting game (see what I did there?). And listen as bonus guest Topher Cantler repeatedly makes the case for Rival Schools.

The episode is available for your downloading right now. Just click. Full show notes reside after the break.

Someone needs to give a case for Darkstalkers. God knows, Ono has been screaming for it - maybe if fans scream for it too, we'll finally see a sequel to the second most influential fighting game of all time.

"It's good... It's good to be back now where we belong. The knifing and forking. And spooning. Instead of--No more of the summer vacation. No more of this beach cabana happy fun-time. It's time for forking. Back to forking!"

So starting to listen! Woo!

Have I ever mentioned how I love everyone involved with this show? Because I do. God, I'm starting to sound like Chad (not that that's a bad thing). Conrad, Colette, Tron (wink, wink, you especially) and the esteemed Topher Cantler. There's a hole in my heart that bit transmission fills perfectly.

@GamesAreArt: I actually realized this just before the episode went live. A corrected version was uploaded, but I guess it hasn't quite made its way out yet. Sorry, Topher. I totally corrected myself, just not fast enough!

Hey conrad, would you guys be able to publish the podcast on Zune Marketplace too? I know I'm probably the only one here who uses zune for my podcasting needs but I figure it shouldn't be too hard since Podtoid is set up there already.

i'd love to see firebrand in MvC3?

Actually, a new demon's quest game would be awesome, even if it's under a different name. it had a great metroidvania feel to it.

Maybe I should have clarified when I mentioned new IPs. I didn't mean new IPs to fighting games. I meant new IPs. Red Earth (which I own a board of) came out in 1996. Tech Romancer was 1998. Power Stone was 1999.

I don't mean to sound like a dick but pointing out Fate Unlimited Code, a LICENSED game, as a new IP isn't really a new IP. You don't see Namco claiming ownershp of Naruto or Star Wars.

I think this was the best video game related podcast I've ever listened to. I was sad when it ended. Almost played it again, but that would have been redundant.

Well, with all respect, I do not think the Phaistos Disk has to be something from the Trojan era since it dates back no less than 1000BC. I think it must have been written by civilizations from other celestial systems such as the ones described in the Ancient
