Holmes, your honesty is awesome! I didn't cry the first time I saw the trailer for SMG 2, although, pure excitement, beyond words, over took me. This, actually, happens every time I hear about or see a sequel to a Mario game. I'll never forget reading about Super Mario Bros. 2 in the Nintendo Fun Club News letter.
Colette, I totally agree with you regarding Metroid, Metal Gear and Natal(motion games), afraid to admit. Although, I've beaten and loved Metroid and Super Metroid, the Prime series escaped me. I am, very much, looking forward to Metroid: Other M though!
Conrad, fucking hilarious! I, too, can only play Heavy Rain in short bursts. Some of the button combos do make you feel like you're playing finger twister. Shit.
Anyway, great show, guys! Thanks.
I enjoy downloading Wii games, as well, Holmes! I never tire of Mario(or Luigi) running, jumping and hitting blocks. =)
Missing me some Concelmo ZOMG's.
Also, agreed with whoever made the point that taking an old game and giving it physics or bump-mapping makes it no longer the same game. Pac-Man C.E. and games like it, for all their fun, are homages or spinoffs.
That's not an inherently negative thing but asking for a game like Mega Man 10 to "do something new, gosh," a series defined by its look and feel, misses the point. Semi-relatedly to this and another topic, I think it makes much more sense to port old games to new platforms rather than being dependent on backwards compatibility and emulation, let alone having to play the original on the system it started on.
Please write us a question for the next podcast. It would be fun to talk about something you're thinking about.
Cherry Blossom Color Season makes me emotional, too! There's something nostalgically about.
Hating on Mega Man for what he is is like hating the rain for getting things wet. Those people are crazy.
One last thing; there's gotta be an easier way to find these posts. Every gonna update the Podcast page to throw you guys on there?
