Quantcast

Robotube's latest episode of Bit Museum couldn't have come at a better time. I'm in France, jetlagged as balls, and I need something to do -- while the rest of the country is sleeping, I know that I'll be up until about 5 o'clock in the morning. It's pretty much the worse thing ever. Thankfully, host Jason Cirillo is always entertaining, and I'll waste a good half-hour writing this post.

Interesting aside: The first thing Cirillo talks about is the Vectrex. This is normally the part of the post when I say something flattering about Robotube, and how they're so smart and attractive, but Joe Burling beat them to the punch -- he has a Vectrex machine and let me play it last time I was at his house. Then Ron hit me in the balls.

Well, I'm going to go slam French beers in an attempt to drink myself to sleep at a decent hour (I slept until 4 o'clock in the afternoon today -- unacceptable). In the meantime, check out Robotube games and this sweet Japanese home arcade-cum-bank, and watch Cirillo open a Super Mario choclate egg.

Damn it, I remember all of those systems, even the Milton Bradley Microvision. I even had that Ms. Pac Man tabletop game!

Now I feel REALLY fucking old!

I'll tell you what's better than setting up your NES in the bathroom--setting up your Sega Saturn in the bathroom. That shit was off the hook.

I got me a vextrex, it is still good, some of the games are still very playable, because it is essentially an oscilloscope the clean vector lines are nice and smooth. 4 buttons and a thumbstick back in 82, somebody deserves a badge.
