Bands and artists in the world of videogame music will converge in Baltimore later this month. August 14th kicks off Bit Gen Gamer Fest. The whole game music band started off with five bands in 2005. Subsequent years have brought about more concerts, working all the way up to this year, which is supposed to be the biggest ever.
This event, which brings game music and art together with fans, is going to host 12 musical acts. The lineup is basically a hotlist of the best game music bands out there. I'm biased towards the first one in the list, of course. Here's the band lineup:
The whole thing will be MC'd by Brentalfloss and DJ Cutman will be spinning all night.
It all goes down at Sonar in Baltimore. Go here for tickets. Go out and support these awesome bands. Give my boys in The OneUps some love and buy some CDs while you're there!

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
BEWARE OF EVENTS SET UP BY JOHN DECAMPOS, because you never know when or why you will be banned from one of his events. you apparently can be banned for reasons as simple as 'i dont like you'. here's the word from the horses's mouth:

hey.
Just wanted to give you a heads up that your are still not allowed at the bit gen shows. Please don't try and attend, everyone at Sonar and all the bit gen folk know I don't want you there. If you attend you will be asked to leave, if you wont leave then you will be escorted out. I hope I'm being clear, and honestly I don't really have a huge problem with you these days, like when I see you for all of 5 seconds at a show or something but I just really don't want you at the Bit Gen shows, its that simple. please don't call Chris about it, or do anything really...your just not allowed at this event, its that simple.
take it easy.
is this any way to treat people in a scene such as this? is there ever any reason to not have respect for people who helped start a scene in your town? it just goes to show that it only takes one person polluting the water to turn it poisonous for everybody, your friends, your bandmates, whoever.
Doesn't look like many d-toiders are going, so I don't think I'll go.
