I'm happier with the Quairan's still being masked. It makes sense story wise and nothing that we see under the mask would live up to expectations.
I can see why this would be an issue for them. I'm undecided. I want to see her face, but at the same time she's become my favorite support character without having seen her face.
I don't think they should unmask her. Some things are best left a mystery, and this way the character stays loved for what she already is.
Have her unmask during the sex scene and have her be normal looking but just really disappointingly unattractive. Not deformed or anything, just give her a really big nose and bad skin.
I need her to take off her mask when she arrives with all the remaining Quarians on their homeplanet, which they have restored thanks to a newly created Geth-Quarian alliance. As the camera pans around her, ever upwards while showing the mass arrival in progress, she looks at Legion who looks back questioning with a cocked head. Then she takes off her mask and stares at the looming Mass Relay between the stars above.
Then we will all go "ACK WHAT" or cream our pants. And only after we replay it after getting 1000/1000 or a platinum trophy, of course!

I get the feeling that telling them to take their homeland again will result in a scene more like "And then the camera pans out, and you see Tali's cracked mask start to give away, slowly revealing the dead alien inside." D:
I don't really mind not seeing what they look like. It also helps bioware if they are just too lazy to render both genders of a species. Are the quarians the only species that has shown both male and females?
Don't unmask her, the Tali fanbase is a ravenous, crazy bunch. Casey is right, it will not end well either way. If she is a space elf, other will call out Bioware for catering to a certain sect of fans, and if they make her a space crab, all of the Tali fans will hold a bonfire and burn everything Bioware they own.
I think they shouldn't unmask her. It's kinda like when you see the person behind a voice that you listen to on the radio. They never match the image you had of them in your head.
In a lose-lose situation I would make the decision which would cause more stir and just unmask her and let everyone talking about the game for months.
Leave it. Don't unmask her. Sometimes you just need mystic and leaving things for the player to imagine. As games have progressed graphically, RPGs have lost that aspect because they try to go with the "visual" story telling style and thus leave little to the imaginiation.
Shame they already used the 'unmasked but you can't see it' in ME2 already. They have to one-up it and go for the big reveal, as disappointing as it will be.
They're gonna have to unmask her. It's been built up too much at this point, and ME3 is the end of the current trilogy. We've earned this.
There is absolutely no reason to ever unmask Tali. If Shepard romanced her, then he has already seen her face, which would make any subsequent unmasking totally uncalled for. There is already way too much goddamn fan-service in this series as it is.
At this point, I believe they themselves have no idea what Quarians look like behind the masks.
Even if they unmask them "in universe", they can even use some Austin Powers-like trick to hide it from the audience... I am totally ok with that, since what they say is true, they can't expect to live to the expectations of the fanbase.

I don't care either way, but if they DO unmask her I just don't want her/the race to be nothing more than space elves.
How about she looks different depending on what choices you've made (renegade or paragon, exiled or not)? And if you don't romance her you don't see her face.

if you're carrying over a Tali romance, I feel like you've earned an unmasking. Yeah, they're going to get shit from people who want her to be gorgeous and those who want her to be some crazy non-human like alien depending on what route they take, but they need to suck it up and do it. Technically she's already rooted in human-like features given her eyes and nose placement, so I'd rather see her get the asari treatment. Different to humanity, but similar in many ways... as opposed to say a Turian or Salarian look. Wonder if she'll have hair?
@Epic: I would buy that sooooo fast. Less shooting moar science puzzles and investigations! That's how I'd want that at least.

It's the last game in the series(or the current story arc) that will feature these characters. If they don't do it now, it will a wasted opportunity.
If they're this indecisive about unmasking Tali(or the Quarian race in general) just make it an optional side-quest.
OR make it a "circumstantial"-quest that's totally dependent on the outcome of Legion's and Tali's Loyalty Missions in ME2. If you made the "right" decisions during both their missions, then this particular side-quest appears in ME3.

Not un masking her is a cop out no matter how you look at it. It shows Bioware lacks creativity enough to design a character fully.

Your comment proves that no matter what they do, they'll get hate for it. As far as I can tell she has been developed just as much as any other side character in the game. You don't need to see her face to see that, also considering her race has a story reason why they have to wear masks. So it isn't like 'durr durr, she has a mask and his mysterious'.
