Last week, we discovered that Dragon Age: Origins was suffering a slight delay, being pushed back to November from October. According to developer BioWare, the delay has nothing to do with quality, and the game has been pushed back so the team can "finalize" things.
"We're just taking a little time to finalise things," says executive producer Mark Darrah. "We're focusing on making sure that we bring each SKU up to quality."
Darrah also touched upon why the PS3 version is releasing after the PC and Xbox 360, but his answer won't exactly satisfy curious PlayStation fans: "This is just the order we've chosen to [release] them in."
I played Dragon Age: Origins this past week, but embargoes prevent me from speaking about it. All I guess I can get away with saying is that I think BioWare's telling the truth when it says the delay isn't a quality issue. I am also really going to struggle with the long wait until November to play this game again.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Secondly, I had no idea the PS3 version was being released later anyways, so this is a huge bonerkiller for me.
October to November is a eternity in internet time Jim.
Oh well. I'll be getting it for the 360.
Dragon Age: Origins is not "Tolkenian" at all. If you want to sound smart, try to not use terms like Tolkenian or "Kafkaesque." If you want to compare DA:O to any piece of modern fantasy literature, compare it to George R. R. Martin's series "A Song of Ice and Fire."
What's the deal with Demon's Souls? I haven't played it, but I love Bioware games and Dragon Age looks amazing. If Demon's Souls is sweet I'll check it out.
Oh, and @Saskatchewhoa -- BOOMSHAKALAKA!!
Microsoft loves to fuck with Sony.
Yeah that could be a factor. Whats crazy is now they are up against the giant known as MW2.
Since this is Bioware's spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate series I'm guessing PC will be the sku most hard core old school fans pick up.
I played it at Comic-Con, and it was better than I ever thought it could be.
So yes, it's awesome.
That is all.
"Thank you mister Ffordesoon you made my day"
