Bioware officially announces Mass Effect 2 photo

Official announcements are odd things. After all, we've known about Mass Effect 2 for some time and seen everything from trailers to the ability to transfer save files from the first game, but here were are with an official announcement from Bioware that Mass Effect 2 is on the way. Well, have to make things fancy and formal, I suppose.

At any rate, we can expect the sci-fi adventure to come our way sometime in 2010. It'll be available for PC and Xbox 360 (sorry PS3 owners!), and Bioware's CEO promises features such as more weapons and deeper planet exploration. People seem to have really violent reactions about the first game-- they either loved it or loathed it. I was in the first camp, and I'm looking forward to spending some quality time with the sequel next year. Are you all about it, or avoiding it like the plague?

Mass Effect swiftly became one of my all-time favourite games. I completed it twice on the 360 and bought it again when it came out on PC. I actually very much enjoyed the uncharted world stuff despite that fact that there wasn't all that much to do on them. I just loved that feeling of vast emptiness.

I'm hoping that this time round the 360 and PC versions hit at the same time, as I did find the PC version to be a slicker, more satisfying experience.

I love game sequels... they're usually better than the first. I kinda hate the "indie" mentality that any game that has a sequel is automatically some kind of commercial sellout or something. The video game biz is not the movie biz.

I bought Mass Effect to see Liara's tits but then the whole nudity fiasco ended up screwing me over since there is no real nudity. I was disappointed. I wanted alien titties.

I buy PC games before I buy 360 games. Remember when Ninja Gaiden was "Xbox ONLY!" now I have Ninja Gaiden sigma on my PS3? These statements scream to me "Buy buy buy! don't wait!" Well.. I wait until the price goes down. ;)

Yeah, Mass Effect 2 will be a great experience. It will be a hot contender for the GOTY 2010 if nothing goes wrong.

I'm excited, I just hope they rework the renegade dialogue options, they were horrendous. They made me cringe in embarassment half the time because they just make you sound like such a hyper-stupid aggro fuck.

It's not even that they were brutally merciless options, it was just you tossing your red, used, drenched rag in everyone's face regardless of whether they're trying their darndest to help you or not.

also, did that picture really need a motivational poster? I mean seriously.

ME 1 was fun enough. If they make 2 such that each planet is interesting and different, and have not quite OMFG SO MANY of them, then ill be sold immediately.

It's absolutely incredible how EA of all companies doesn't jump on the fact that they OWN BioWare and can force a PS3 port on them. Neither did they force a port on Valve for Left 4 Dead. Not being a fanboy, but I guess EA really has changed.

On topic, I want to play the first ME so much, but I'm playing like ten games as it is that I still need to finish :(

Also, I never played the first one, and now that I have a current gen console, the sequel won't arrive on it. So I guess I won't start on this franchise anytime soon. Oh well :(
