Are people really condoning this behavior? Fucking really? First of all, it's not only the forum, his whole account was banned. Second, he had his real data on his account, which is where Bioware should look for age verification, not in a forum post. You know, where his billing address and credit card info are? Third, you are the fucking customers, you should demand better behavior and not submitting to this kind of bullshit, he paid for the game and was rewarded with this idiotic and unjustified ban. Fourth, it's a fucking meme older than most of TOR's fanbase, don't tell me they claim that he legitimate confession about his age, this is what happens when you outsource your customer support to India.

Friend of mine got banned from Second Life for saying the same thing. Had to deal with a big PITA of giving Linden Labs his info over it.
I think it's an auto-ban if you report it on SL, because the guy seriously got banned within 15-20 minutes where you can normally spend months trying to get them to respond to a DMCA claim.

While I think this is absolutely stupid, I also think the huge overreaction against Bioware and ToR is stupid. I really don't understand all of the hate against ToR. But I'm not going to attempt to understand internet logic, so whatever.
Granted, Bioware is a bit trigger happy with bans in TOR, but rules are rules. I, personally, don't think anyone < 13 should interact in MMO environment, neither he brings anything to it. I wouldn't have an issue with MMO being 18+, but that would probably cut a lot of revenue, so no one will go for it.
Also that only strengthen my opinion on official communities: why the hell would you use one? It's only trouble. Hardly any gain you wouldn't be able to get elsewhere, and plenty to get banned. Steam, EA, Bioware, WoW, whatever.
And if people want to avoid trouble they should think what they spew on the web. I'm not afraid to sign every single piece of text I put on the web with my name, if needed to. Not knowing meme's is not really such a big deal as everyone seems to think that it is. Bioware probably have better things to do than scour the internet for mindless bullshit like I do. Although the banning was silly and wrong, you can't say that you're underage in internet places for adults... that's pretty much just common sense, and grounds for perma-ban. It's in those terms that everyone signs for these games but never bother to read.

By law they had to suspend his account until his true age can be verified, he could have just as easily lied about his age when creating the account. Just because you are free to poke a bear in eyes doesn't mean you should, and you certainly can't blame the bear for the mauling that comes next. You knew the outcome going in.

I seem to remember something similar happening around the time that the dragon age 2 demo was released. A member got banned for making a joke about how cheap it was that Bioware were offering extra in-game items if they could reach a million downloads before a certain date.
