Oh, so this is why Dragon Age II sucked. They were working on 3 at the same time.
It's already been longer since DA2 than the time between DA2 and DAO. That's a good sign. It's not the basis of a lot of optimism, but "rushing it" was definitely DA2's primary problem.
So they gave it to Obsidian, then?
DA2 was barely worth the 15 bucks I paid for it, but DA:O is legendary. If they can at least get somewhere in the middle it has a chance.
That said, I'm waiting for the Dragon Age 3 Premium Club that gives you super awesome weapons loot and armor all for 60 dollars. Oh and you also get the DLC 2 weeks early, just because.
Kidding aside, I hope this is much closer to Origins. I loved that game and was quite upset about how terrible DA2 turned out.
After DAII I know which title I'll be hedging my bets on. I wonder if we'll have another Diablo III/Torchlight 2 situation develop?
Either way I guess I could be said to be cautiously optimistic but I think even the fanboys would have to admit that whilst they are still a very, very good studio Bioware just aren't what they used to be.
I think this report hits the nail on the had. DA3 will be like the words mentioned often in this report - lacking in specifics; another dull-as-dishwater EA middle-of-the-road travesty.
They should really move on from franchises that which had really middling to bad sequels like Medal of Honor, Crysis, Army of Two, and Dragon Age II because no one is excited for them.
But they are just going to churn them out anyways, and will probably sell less than their predecessors (Crysis 2 and Medal of Honor didn't sell well to begin with) and probably cost John Riccitello his job, if SWTOR hasnt already done that.
Dragon Age 2 was just some bullshit story a grandpa was telling his grandson while gazing at the stars.
There is no force on Earth that could ever make me play a future Dragon Age ever again. Especially if Laidlaw is involved.
Rename the game to Dragon Age III: Insertion!
I also expect two or three will be available in-game, one set for each glass will be pre order dlc, the others will be locked for later dlc.
Yes!Yes!Yes!Yes!Yes!Yes!Yes!Yes!Yes!Yes!Yes!Yes!Yes!Yes!Yes!Yes!Yes!Yes!Yes!vYes!Yes!Yes!Yes!Yes!Yes!Yes!
YES!
They are probably trying to send a subtle message that it is more like origins. I remember one small number of people saying things like "This game was so rushed they couldn't even figure out a decent subtitle for the game." So it's probably a sly way to show to people that they aren't rushing this one by saying, "hey, look it has a subtitle too, like the one everyone likes"
with EAs push for online crap, Dragon Age 2's "quality", Old Republic etc. i honestly can't get excited for it.
Yeah, seriously. If DA3 sucks, I'll probably just ignore future entries. I preordered DA2 because I loved DAO so much, but I seriously doubt I'll preorder DA3. I'll wait for reviews.
I really hope they learned from dragon age 2 how not to make a dragon age game sure trying to modernize is not a bad idea on its own however dragon age 2 only stripped away they didn't add.
I really, really, really hope they find a better way of dealing with loading new areas.
Wow. So much misinformation here. Firstly, Crysis is Crytek's IP, not EA's (Crytek completely controls it, EA only serves as the publisher). Secondly, Crysis 2 sold over three million units. Not too shabby for a game noone was excited for.
You don't have a clue what you're talking about.
Sounds like they're holding it to be released with the X720/PS4
The thing is I only thought Dragon Age 1 was "okay", it successfully channeled that meaty RPG experience but only competently at best. DA3 has to do more than just 'be like DA1', it has to far surpass it else it will just be par for the course. Effectively I am saying they have to be looking to equal/top Mask of the Betrayer or just don't bother and so far I am expecting Bioware to choose that latter.
