BioWare: Activision's PS3 comments are 'silly' photo

Looks like it's not just Sony that wants to belittle Activision for its infamous comments about a PS3 price cut. BioWare founder Greg Zeschuk has joined in to criticize Bobby Kotick's remarks, casting aside his threat to pull Playtation support as a silly thing.

"I don't think it's really fair to poke fun at Sony," he explains. "Certainly the Wii's been a massive success and Sony's probably not going as fast as they thought it would be but I think that they're starting to make the right moves and the software's coming along.

"I think it's silly to be saying you're not going to support Sony. The brand itself is still huge and there are millions of [users] out there."

As I said in an article this weekend, It is more than likely that Kotick's threats were rather empty. Evil publisher Activision likes money, and there is still money to be had from the PlayStation brand. However, I think mocking the world's biggest third party publisher is equally silly, at least as far as Sony goes.

This PS3 price cut drama is set to continue for quite a while, methinks. Some people are sick of it, certainly, but I do so love to see some corporate mudslinging. Long may it continue.

The price cut debate is hilarious to me, because I already own one. I say to Sony, jack the price up, uP, UP!

I'm still having trouble getting behind the "threat" interpretation. Even from a corporate-speak point of view, the lanaguage was incredibly mild, straightforward, and honest. Essentially that Activision is worried about the fact that the PS3 install base isn't growing enough to justify further ports/releases. Granted, it'd lend some credence to their claim if they released some internal numbers that make it clear as day that it isn't personal, or not just about "greed", but that they do, in fact, want the PS3 to succeed so that they can develop more products with a greater margin.

Seriously, if Sony did that, I would hail them as Troll Gods.

". . . belittle Activision for its infamous comments. . ."

Look out for that banana peel, Dr. Freud!

Also, Sony and Activision are like those two kids in junior-high that would circle each other in the halls, chest-to-chest, but never actually throw a punch. All the other kids would gather round, rabid and screaming for a real fight, but nothing happened and eventually the bell rang and everyone dispersed, and everyone in the crowd felt stupid for making such a big deal about it.

nice to see some devs that apparently DID take the Marketing 101 course and know enough not to piss off potential clients.

@walkyourpath: And then years later they would meet again and realize that it was just repressed sexual feelings all along, and they'd enjoy a long and productive relationship together.

BioWare and by proxy EA, I suppose. This still has nothing on the great battles of the 90s.

that's funny. a company that hasn't made games for the PS3 yet is making cracks about Activision. Activision may be the biggest third party developer but BioWare is a subsidiary of EA, the number 2. EA has experience in the hardware killing business (ahem.. Sega.. ahem). if EA gets their full foot in this it'll be fun to watch.

I will respect that only because BioWare is one of my favorite producers.
And they're already making Dragon Age for the PS3, i think they are only trying out the Sony console, that's why the prodigal son is still a 360 exclusive.

Instead of wasting time on empty Personals spend money on drinks for girls at the bar, I¡¯m looking for someone exciting and special order a romantic dinner ¡.

Just before I intended to abandon the computer for the pillow, around four in the morning, of all Hflrtotim nonsense, I suddenly jumped joins a picture of a new, ¡°fresh meat¡± market site, her name was Cathy.

All I could see the little picture she volunteered was straight black hair and long long way I like shiny brown eyes. There was something in this picture that drew me to this mysterious figure. Only the sound of her voice asking if everything was okay woke me waking dreams, ¡°All right¡± I told her everything is fine ¡

More coffee and a croissant over eat, while rejecting outright the three recent suggestions for lunch just to get the cafe until she finishes her shift, I was hoping something would make me her message of last night will make her a picture of Dating sites which slipped a few hours.

When I calmly worked my head to look at her, she was not there. His eyes darted along all the little cafe she was gone! Her shift was over and with it my hope vanished, at least for today.

As I packed my bag, a waiter approached me and kindly called era, one of the regulars there. ¡°Say, did not you tell me your name was recently giving?¡±
