BioShock widescreen fix on the way photo

Remeber the BioShock widescreen drama from late August? Picky gamers were up in arms about some cropping and other technical babble that I didn't care about as I was too busy avoiding Big Daddies to mind. Now it seems that this "non-problem" (CosbyTron's C-blog entry does great job of explaining) will have a fix.

The always awesome Ars Technicia has spotted a post from a 2K Games representative that points to an upcoming fix.

The widescreen patch will be coming in the next title update, which is out soon, and i will update you guys as soon as it goes up!

I don't know about you all, but I'm good. The issue wasn't much of a problem in the first place, and I've already moved on to the next game. I guess this will be handy (or worth checking out) the next time I decide to revisit Rapture, but for now it's too late to matter that much.

The nancyboy whining on the 2k forums on this issue is over the top. One particular stupid crybaby has refused to play the game at all because of this "problem." 2k should have told all of them where to go. It's like expecting them to "patch" the game because you wish the splicers looked a little different.

It's nice and all, but I don't think they should have bothered.

It was kind of a ridiculous omission, but hardly stopped me from enjoying the game. This comes a little late, but I guess it'll be nice if I decide to give the game another run through.

I don't have a widescreen TV (or PC monitor), but I can see why people might be slightly pissed.

CosbyTron was right, it never really was a problem in the first place.

Never bothered me but for new 360 owners this xmas - this is surely welcome. I expect this sort of tweak within the first week of launch though. Next thing will be downloadable content for Viva Pinata.

Once it's released I'll definitely get the patch to see if it's an improvement, but to me it wasn't an issue.

WTF? This STILL ISN'T FIXED? Wow... just fucking wow.

I played, installed 3rd party widescreen fix, beat game, watched alternate ending on youtube and forgot about it like two decades ago. And I even remember in the widescreen thread about an official fix coming soon? lol

Also, it was hardly a "non-issue", it was downright obnoxious. I could hardly see my guns before I did the third party fix.

I wonder if it'll actually be better than the original way. Supposedly, they designed the game the way they did, and maybe this will just add more dead space.
