BioShock is NEVER coming to PS3, never ever ever: 2K crushes the dream photo

A fresh rumor has been flying around that BioShock would be heading to the PlayStation 3 in 2008, no doubt sparking off fanboy flamewars up and down the Internet. Well, 2K Games has decided to squash those rumors in a most brutally honest manner, and is sick of hearing about it.

Responding to a post on the 2K forums about the rumor, an official moderator had this to say:

"Please don't tell me you made an account just for this question ... There will be no PS3 version of BioShock. It has been explained time and time again." 

You can explain something as many times as you like, but it won't make a world of difference to some people. Doubtless the rumors and the dreaming will continue, as drooling Sony obsessives still hold out hope for BioShock. Far be it from me to keep such blind wishing alive but ... you never know in this business. Still could happen, no matter what gets said.

Blame Capcom. They made RE4 and Devil May Cry 4 multiplatform, when we were sure they were exclusive, and now no exclusive is safe anymore.

Yeah, I mean Shinji Mikami said he would cut off his own head if RE4 went to PS2. And we all know how that turned out. So maybe there' hope for you PS3 owners yet.

Some people don't want to buy a wii/360/ps3 just so they can play all the games. They can take their exclusives and shove them up their asses. I don't want another system.

Meh, Bioshock is best on the PC anyway. Even my 3 year old system plays it well. The system requirements, while high, aren't outrageous. If this came out for the PS3, I don't even think I would give it a second look, already got through it on the pc and haven't replayed it since, too many other games out or coming out that I want to play. Speaking of which, just confirmed that Galaxy is indeed waiting for me when I get home, 2 1/2 hours and counting.

I agree with Corak. PCs and consoles have different design strategies, so if PC games aren't being ported to consoles, that's not much of a loss. Other 3rd party console games not making it to the PS3... that bugs me.

BTW, I own one of everything.

@Christiangamer, that is actually quite different. You see MGS isn't out yet, so there not goign to say it's coming out for the 360 to boost sales. BioShock is already out so there isn't much reason why they would denie it.

i thought i heard developers wont be making many exclusive ps3 games because they cost too much, and the profit isnt there. basically, the only way thet will make ps3 games is if theyre cross-platform.

The difference between this and MGS4 is that no one has outright squashed the rumor of MGS4 coming to the 360. Sure, they've said that it's a PS3 exclusive - but that's not a denial. Timed exclusive, bitches.

Sharpless is right, Whenever MGS4 360 rumors come up Konami always waffles. All they have to do is have Ryan Payton say on the Kojima Productions podcast that it will never come to the 360, instead they always talk about how the rumors are interesting and funny.

If you have a 3 year old computer, chances are you can still play this game at a slight step below minimum settings. Heck, as long as you can keep the water and lighting effects on and achieve a good frame rate, it'll still look great at 800x600 resolution.

Ah. Well.

One day there will be MGS4 and the pS3 owners shall rejoice and throw stones at the Xbox 360 users.

This will either make the Xboys really mad, or do a flip flop and say "It doesn't matter, it's good that more people get to enjoy the game" even though if the game was confirmed as 360 only, they'd keep throwing it in the face of PS3 fans
