To say I am living, breathing and fantasizing about BioShock every waking moment of my day is probably a bit of an understatement at the moment. That is the only reason I can justify being obsessed with every tidbit of information that comes out about the game, from glitch videos such as this to the design of the Big Daddy's boots.
Still, this is a pretty cool glitch. It actually allows you to break out of Rapture and wander around in the ocean a bit. Whee! This may tide you over for a minute or two and help you to forget the pain of not getting your ass to Toys R Us fast enough this morning.
The more I see community reaction to BioShock, the more thrilled I become. This is one of those rare games that, for we obsessive gamers, has transcended.

I wasn't all that excited for BioShock. It sounded like more of the same old FPS. I only put my preorder on it last week 'cause I felt like I wanted something to tide me over 'till Halo 3, but the demo really sold off today.
It came down to the atmosphere. The whole 50s atmosphere sold me, from the Darin muzak, to the new cool twist on ESP powers with the whole Evo deal. I'm definitely looking forward to this title next Thurs.
Poor, innocent BioShock demo. It just wanted to give you a taste of the freshness that is the wonderful world of BioShock, and here are people taking advantage of it. This is like wearing a camera on your shoe to look up girls' skirts. It's immoral, Lord knows the psychological turmoil it will suffer.
This makes me wonder if all along BioShock was a Metroid Prime nod. jeezus.. open worlds, secret worlds.. escaping the netherealm, just for exploration. Plus being able to use elements to further your disposal. Curious whats next from this game that will floor us in a matter of hours. Hope someone shares.
Yeah, my YouTube video is basically the same... but I uploaded it a day earlier and I showed more of the outside of the level than the other guy did. I'm not asking to have my video put up in place of his (even though I submitted mine as a tip too), but it seems pretty obvious to me that he just replicated what I did a slightly different way.
I'm just happy to see some actual gameplay footage. My lack of 360 is causing me to waist many a day foraging through video sites looking for new awesome covered nuggets to satisfy my fix.
@Evil Cheese -- same here buddy. My 360 died over a month ago... so I was sure I would have it back in time for BioShock. No 360 yet, and all I've been able to do is lurk in the corner of these posts about BioShock and various other demos that I was really excited about. I feel your pain.
All that testing the QA staff do, probably making really super sure the demo section at least has no bugs..and then just a few days out and people already figure out how to break the game 0_o
When I played the demo, I pretty much spent a good ten minutes staring at everything just saying, "...wow..." Even looking at the city in the background is majestic. I so would love to live in an undersea world even if I do end up a genetic freak.
when yer in the pod thingie, going down, and you get the little "in cabin" movie, and then when the movie is gone and the screen goes up and you see the giant underwater city and theres a whale swimming by at that point.

Thats it. My box has officially died. Towels are not helping anymore. If I get a core system, I can plug my old harddrive into it right? I'd rather buy a new one than wait for it to be refurbished. I'm not going to miss all the initial Bio-fun.

"They will then quietly "soft launch" a new version of the Core and Premium hardware in late August or September that will include an HDMI port. It's also expected that this new hardware will feature the 65nm process for the CPU and quieter DVD drives."
But so far, I believe only the Premiums have HDMI. And they still only have the Elite hardware, not the 65nm ones. So I dunno how much you can trust that "source". A Core could then still be an old piece of shit. But it will probably let you play BioShock :)

Slow down fella. Most of us (Including you) have yet to play it. Don't give it to much props. Don't get me wrong I think it looks like a hell of a game, but until you play the full version who cares. I loved the demo. But I've loved all of Madden 08's demos. You know, Madden 03,04,05,06 and 07.
