BioShock developer revealing new game trailer next week

4:20 PM on 08.02.2010 // Nick Chester

Irrational Games, creators of BioShock (and other awesome games), have confirmed that next week is when we'll finally get a glimpse at its next title, codenamed "Project Icarus."

The confirmation comes by way of the latest episode of the Irrational Behavior podcast, entitled "Calm Before The Storm." The 8-minute episode starts with a torrent of voicemails left for the developer, where fans took guesses as to what the mystery title could be. Guesses range from a sequel to 'Splosion Man (what?) to another Tribes game to a Ken Levine dating simulator.

Did anyone get it right? Who knows? We'll find out next week, though: Irrational Games will be revealing its upcoming title to press next week on August 11. You'll find out about it the next day, August 12 -- at 2 PM, to be exact. That'll include what my guess is will be a bad-ass trailer. I'll be there personally to see it, and will tell you everything I know as soon as I can.

(P.S. Stick around for the end of this episode for the best game pitch I've ever heard, plus someone who is really excited about SWAT 5.)
