[Update: 2K has just confirmed to us that OPM UK is quoting a press release from after E3 that didn't specify on a next-gen platform. In September, 2K announced Xbox 360 and PC exclusivity via a new press release. OPM is referring to the old press release from May, according to 2K. -- Robert Summa]

Oh, for the love of God ...

According to the latest issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine UK, Bioshock is on it's way to the PlayStation 3. No, really. This time we mean it. Perhaps. Well, most likely. I think.

A title we've been buzzing about quite a bit, Bioshock was once thought to be a PC and Xbox 360 exclusive. Or maybe it wasn't. Sure it was! Oh, I'm just so confused.
 
But according to the magazine, 2K Games only promised limited exclusivity, stating that the game would hit next-generation consoles. No one is pulling the wool over OPSM's eyes, as they note the "vital plural" in "consoles." Very clever!

The bottom line is that Bioshock is coming to the PS3. The idea of exclusives is dead this generation; starting getting used to it.

As long as it's still coming out for the 360 as well, I'm all for it coming to PS3.

There have been on and off rumors, think this one is a little more valid?

I'm sure they'll bring it to the PS3, but like some suggested, will it be a time-exclusive title or will be see a simultaneous release on all platforms?

Wait!? Are you telling me that a game company is being wishy-washy about the actual facts they maybe, sorta, kinda are "allowing" their PR team (who most likely never held a game controller in their life) to announce to the gaming media?

the "next generation consoles" quote was taken from Early 2006, aka the time before Microsoft bought out the game for Windows Exclusivity.

2K has confirmed that it's a Microsoft exclusive

Sorry, just seeing this headline keeps bugging me for some reason, not sure why. So the PS3 will probably get a few of the 360's games. So, would I rather buy them for the $400 system with a nice controller that rumbles and has a nice online community interface, or would I rather buy them for the $600 system with an outdated, rumble-less controller (that I never liked in the first place) with a fragmented excuse for online?

A minor bump in graphics (that hasn't happened yet) can't entice me to buy any cross-platform game for PS3. So let it happen, I say, that thing needs something to justify its existence, and it might as well be the thing that won many Game of the Show awards at E3.

"Consoles"? "Consoles"? That's their 'proof'? What bullshit is that. 2 XBox 360s are consoleS, that doesn't mean one of them is a PS3. It's about as stupid as saying Madden 07 will come out on Atari because EA said it's "multiplatform".

the xboys are mad, because they spent $400 on a non premium console that microsoft is going to update this year in order to compete with the premium console for the hard core gamer: the ps3. i think if sony allowed xboys to trade in their $400 barely working console for a ps3, it'd be over.

I love the blog title. And yay, now I'm almost 100% sure I'll never need the PS3! The only way I'd buy another Sony console now is if Fumito Ueda's next game turns out to be the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I wonder if Milly is part of a college experiment.

He/she doesn't go out of his way to attack anyone but expresses an unpopular view and disparages the xbox360.

The reponse is in the form of personal and vigorous attackes. Kinda like an asshole magnet.

For my part I like my PS3 and already have more games on my to play list than I'll have time from in the new few months, maybe even the whole year.

You know what? You're so right. I've been so blind. How could I have not seen the truth until now? I'ma go out and buy a PS3 right this very second. In fact, I'ma buy two of them. The second one is the one that I will never take out of its box, so that it will keep its mint-condition status. That thing is gonna be worth a fortune one of these days. Heck, while I'm out, I might as well buy a third one, so that I can have it bronzed and mounted on my wall, just so that I gaze upon its magnificence. It's almost too bad that I'll have to also sell all of my other consoles in order to get enough money to do this, but it's so gonna be worth it in the end. None of them are as awesome as the PS3, after all. Thank you so much. You are like a beacon, shining in the darkness.

Im OK, your journey has just begun. Rebirth is only the beginning. Then comes the road of trials, and the meeting with the goddess.

I'm gratiful to know I've made a difference. Once I get more hours at my other job, I'll be able to purchase another ps3 (I'll probably wait until they release a different color) and I'll have one I can take with me to my friend's and standing diligent watch in my Video Game Media Entertainment Center. Maybe we can play online sometime if you purchase Resistance?

Okay, nevermind. We've gone beyond plant territory here. The fact that milly can't detect sarcasm must mean that milly really believes this stuff. A plant would at least be able to tell that someone is joking about buying a third (much less a first) PS3 to mount on a wall. Verdict: troll. So saith the ruler of Bethos.

I saw this article before the update and didn't put much faith in it.. came back and saw they had updated it to say: The truth comes out.. "Its NOT really coming to PS3".. maybe those idiots for PS3 Magz will quit "Quoting old news" so PS3 fans dont get their hopes up over NOTHING
