One of the coolest aspects of the original BioShock was the selection of neat water effects -- pretty much an essential component to any game set in an undersea city. BioShock 2 looks to up the H20 ante, and this latest gameplay trailer reveals just how wet you can expect to get.
It seems that the majority of BioShock 2 will be spent getting sprayed in the face like a zoophile at Seaworld. In any case, the game is looking pretty hot from where I'm standing, and I can't wait to see the full game in action.

The water look sgreat but I was distracted by the frozen left hand. If a door burst open, I guarantee that my hand would quickly raise up for protection as opposed to stay frozen like that. I guess we are getting to the point where there has to be much more emphasis on hundreds of small animations like that.
I remember all the complaints about the lack of a forza 3 shifting animation and how they fixed it in a patch.
Environment effects look good, but a little incidental and contrived.
I hope we see a more interactive manipulation of water in this game, such as being able to flood rooms to wipe out enemies, or crack pipes open to steam scold enemies etc.
I don't think the water is an impressive this time around. Then again, there's a lot of water in games these days and it's really hard to tell anymore. I'm sure these water graphics are leaps and bound above a lot of other games out there today.
Water effects in Unreal Engine 3 have always looked bad. I was simply amazed at how terrible the water looked right after the plane crash in Bioshock. The smaller water effects (like little pools of still water) were fine, but the large water scenes/particle effects were laughably bad.
Unreal Engine 3 never was the right engine for Bioshock. It's still a great game, but they should have either used a different engine or written their own water effects system to use instead of the default engine ones. There's no excuse for a game that takes place in the ocean to have such terrible water effects.
Looks pretty meh to me. Sadly, the second game is not looking better than the first. I just hope the gameplay is better than the first since I'd rather not buy the same game twice.

though how does water affect a big daddy? I thought they were incased in an air/water-tights suit?

Here comes the rain again. Falling on my head like a memory...
