After a long delay, BioShock 2 add-on "Protector Trials" is finally coming to PC on March 14.
The single-player add-on offers a series of challenges, where a player takes on control of an Alpha Series Big Daddy in order to protect a Little Sister. The game's locations aren't new, instead reworked versions of the maps found on the game disc. Good news is that the add-on is entirely free for PC users, coming along with a game patch that fixes things like a mouse sensitivity issue players had reported.
So what about the story-driven "Minerva's Den" content? 2K says it's "still working" on it, and will "be making a similar announcement" closer to release.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Some games just shouldn't have multiplayer.
@Magnalon, I like offbeat multiplayers and actually really enjoyed Bioshock 2's and feel it really could have been great if they invested more time in it's upkeep and Dead Space is fun if you don't take it seriously. I also enjoy AC:B. Just because it's not COD doesn't mean it's not good in it's own way.
Devs should really focus on playing to the strengths of their game instead of tacking MP just for the sake of it, at least in B2 and DS2 the main campaign didn't suffer or lose quality due to the resources diverted to make MP, sadly that's not the case for most games (AvP anyone?).
Please 2k: I don't want to wait until like July for Minerva's Den. The pack doesn't deserve that kind of treatment.
Yeah, at least they are releasing them though. I don't care much about this one but I really want to play Minerva's Den and was very upset when they announced it would not be coming to PC. I am so happy they reversed that and are making it for PC that they can take all the time they want.
@LastFencer
"Who's going to buy it now?"
It's free soooooo nobody.
Anywho, I'll probably look into it, I found Bioshock 2 to be just as enjoyable as the first.
I don't care if it's not Call of Duty. That's the worst straw man I've heard all week: I play tons of independent multiplayer games.
I do care, however, that the game is shit, MP wise, and has awful support.
Protector trials were enjoyable once I got back into the swing of things, the bonus levels are amusing since you can just summon yo' daughter to kill them all.
@Blahblahblahblah
The DLC will be on the GFWL marketplace, silly.
Then I look at Bioshock 2, remember that I liked it, and still ask "what went wrong with this port? The story mode was great, but everything else was a bad choice!"
If it ever hits the PC, get it ASAP. It's seriously one of the best Singleplayer DLC packs I've ever played. Packed with secrets and a way superior storyline as the Main game, even if it's a little short.
Rabble rabble! :)
That'll teach me to read the story properly next time.
