BioShock 2 podcast to lead hype train into Rapture photo

2K Games' BioShock community, The Cult of Rapture, has revealed that the first episode of the BioShock 2 podcast will premiere on April 13. It will presumably focus on the upcoming sequel, and will likely be litered with cryptic gameplay and narrative hints. Can't wait for that.

But that's not all -- the BioShock 2 madness doesn't stop there. You already know it's featured on the cover of Game Informer magazine. But did you know it'll be featured on the cover of 25 other magazines, too? Oh yeah, and there's going to be a flood of online coverage. Yes, you won't be able to escape BioShock 2, so prepare yourselves.

This is all good news, though, right? Because then we can finally lay all of that misinformation about Soviets and splicer rhinos to rest.

It's just too bad the viral site was a complete flop due to the release of the Game Informer cover.

The more I hear about Bioshock 2, the less interested I am. If the coverage is going to be as intense as you say I fully expect that I wouldn't accept a copy if it was free by the time the game gets released.

I never did get into the whole viral thing. I hate trying to figure what game is coming out or trying to discover what's going on the flash site.

After reading the game informer article, I have no interest in this game. All of the justification in the article trying to make the plot work just made me laugh.

You know the hype culture is getting way out of hand when we have podcasts for individual titles.

I'm still wondering how it makes any sense to have bioshock 2 set in Rapture, after 7 years. That place was pretty well fucked at the end of bioshock, so how is it even remotely livable after 7 years?

I can't imagine this being a good use of anyone's time or money.

This Harry Potter riddle bullshit is completely detached from the quality of the title. You'll notice there were no teaser sites or cryptic imagery or "viral" (ie anything but viral) messages for the first BioShock.
