BioShock 2 'destined' to be on PC, PS3 and 360 photo

A little while back we posted up a trailer for BioShock 2 that was included after the conclusion of the PlayStation 3 version of BioShock. Little sisters and cute Big Daddy dolls aside, there is the issue of what platform the sequel, subtitled Sea of Dreams, will be hitting first. A 2K representative was recently on-hand to tell Gamespot that the title will come out for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, and that the trailer will be available in HD on PSN and Xbox Live Marketplace.

The only problem with the unveiling of consoles is that 2K wasn't exactly clear. The representative’s line was that “BioShock 2 is destined for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC platforms.”

I’m all about destiny. The other day when I was walking to my car, I found a gum wrapper on the ground. With a sweaty brow and nerve-wracked hands, I picked it up and instantly realized that I was the chosen one. Why a gum wrapper and what I’m chosen for is still unknown, but it’s totally destiny, man.

Are any of you surprised that this statement echoes temporary exclusivity? Perhaps 2K is just being cautious at this stage, but it just feels like PS3 guys may finish last again. What do you think?

Meh, I got a PC also, so I'm not worried.

Microsoft may have a timed exclusivity agreement, which would kind of suck, 'cause this game is DESTINED for greatness and everyone should be able to play it day 1.

Any word on the draconian DRM scheme PC gamers will have to put up with?

That's definitely good to here. Hopefully they all have the same general release date.

No thank you. The second was over-hyped enough as is, but despite that fact it stands on its own well enough to not warrant another title.

As a non-360/computer that can play games worth a shit owner, this is actually good news for me.

I love my PS3, but Sony Corporate has cluster-f@#$ed their relationships and business plan this entire generation.

Why does it echo timed exclusivity? Because you want it to? Because we're meant to be used to it?

No. PS3 will get Bioshock 2 day and date with the PC version. 360 will be there on that day too, I guess.

It always seemed to me that it would all come out on the same day. But if not, I'll wait for the PS3 version - especially if they throw in the extras like they are with Bioshock. But yeah, I bet they put them all out at once.

Love that cross-platform love. Makes us all happy, more games get sold, and nobody gets left out in the cold.

Um, how is this NOT news? Geez, guys. Let's not forget that it took BioShock over a year to hit the PS3. It's not a stretch to imagine that 2 might be an exclusive to one or the other. This is just confirmation. It's news.

ff, they're leaving the window for MS to come in and shaft Sony. Shame really.

Why are so many convinced that PS3 "deserves" Bioshock, while so few feel the same way about MGS4 on the 360? There just seems to be a general sense that the PS3 is entitles to certain titles for some reason, but the argument is never made for the 360. PS3 doesn't "deserve" anything, and if Microsoft has the opportunity to buy timed or full exclusivity they'd be fools not to take it, and Sony'd be fools not to try and counter it. As a PS3 owner, I'm certainly glad I can expect the game on the PS3, but I'm not gonna wait too long for it if it hits 360 first. Anyone with access to both systems would have to be unreasonably patient to wait so long for a small smattering of features.
