A gameplay video for the upcoming Bionic Commando found its way into my willing hands today. Here you can see the well-armed protagonist facing off against a machine with one of the stupidest monikers I've ever heard: The Polycraft. This dumb name refers to its versatility in military applications, which would lead me to suspect we'll be fighting quite a few of them over the course of the game.
I'm still on the fence about wanting Bionic Commando. I'm into the setting, but I haven't seen any evidence of the 80's cheese that was so much a part of my love for the original and dressing Nathan Spencer up in his "Radd" costume probably isn't enough. But the swing mechanic looks like a lot of fun to use and the mulitplayer seems solid, according to a trusted source. I just don't know how to feel.
There still isn't a firm release date and we only have a window of expectation that stretches into March of 2009. As soon as we know, you'll know.

I didn´t play the original Bionic Commando that much. But this feels like a never ending swing scene.
I wouldn´t like it, not even in a Spider man game.

The bad framerate is most likely an issue with the video rather than the game itself. It seems to be a odd trend among trailers shown on TV, in my country at least.
