Bionic Commando: Rearmed available for 400 Points (Update) photo

Microsoft’s latest Deal of the Week is relevant, guys.  For this week only, you’ll be able to download Grin’s Bionic Commando: Rearmed for 400 Microsoft Points instead of the typical retail price of 800 Microsoft Points. This, according to Major Nelson’s math, is a 50 percent savings. (I failed Microsoft Space Dollars 101.)

This offer comes at the perfect time. There’s no better way to suppress your window fogging enthusiasm for Bionic Commando (releases Tuesday) than by playing the demo and checking out what Grin was able to do with the classic.

Well, no better way short of creating your own grappling device. Which, by the way, is not a way to travel if you enjoy solid knees, a straight nose, and a clean criminal record.

[Update: Whoa. Major Nelson was given bad intel. This is not the Deal of the Week, and it's still 800 Microsoft Points.]

[Update 2: OK. Scratch all of the above, minus the update. Bionic Commando: Rearmed XBLA will go on sale May 25. The actual Deal of the Week is the H/V pack for Marvel Ultimate Alliance.]

Update: MAJOR NELSON says:

"Looks like I was given incorrect information. I am locking comments on this post, and I'll make a new Deal of the week post w/ the proper deal."

ME:
Looks like we get screwed. This really pissed me off, I was totally getting this game at the 5$/400points price...

Buy this if you love freedom. And gratuitous, over-the-top images of exploding heads.

Why is this filed under "Xbox" news? BC: Rearmed's new price is by no means exclusive to XBLA; a similarily reduced price is available for the PSN version as well...

Amazing! An actual 400 point game! Usually it's the ol' 800 pointers, but wow. This looks like a keeper.

Bionic Commando replaced by..... the marvel ultimate alliance heroes/villains pack for 560 points? Amazing. they knocked off 240 points of DLC for a game nobody plays anymore.

Alright, I can wait another week for the price drop. No big deal.

They couldn't even bump the MUA hero/villain pack to an even 400 points, considering how old the game is?

Anybody who doesn't buy this for five dollars is probably made of pure, uncut evil.

It says on Capcom's blog that European gamers can get this deal now. I'm form the UK and it's still 800 Microsoft Points.

Bought this on sale a few days ago on PSN, right after downloading Rag Doll Kung Fu for free too! Seriously, this game is too amazing to pass up at $5.
