I was amazed at the number of Easter Eggs that were in Donkey Kong Country Returns. Retro is a truly great developer.
DKCR is truly one of the best pure platformers I have ever played. It is elite.
So far, I came across the TV in the tree house that plays the original theme when you pound the ground near it, the classic construction site, Mr. Game and Watch, the construction site painted on pillars in the first special level, stone blocks of the original Donkey Kong holding a barrel and if you let Kong sit long enough he'll pull out and play a DS. =)

I also find it funny that people vilify Mitchell, but he was the one who somehow managed to be really good at Donkey Kong, AND spend tons of time with his wife and parents.
Wiebe on the other hand, completely ignored his wife and kids the entire movie. Yet he was the "good guy".

Not only that, Mitchell is also the best at every other game under the sun and most importantly, was good at them when anyone actually gave a shit.

Time to dig back into this game. I was initially put off by the inprecise waggle control but I'll give it another shot.

Assumptions, based on the movie, concerning either competitors time spent with his family should be disregarded. One shouldn't assume that from the footage shown. From the footage shown, both guys are amazing players, one just happens to be a bit of a conceited, sanctimonious son of a bitch.

What "imprecise waggle control" are you talking about? I'm not a huge fan of "waggle" in any game, but when done right(and in the right amounts), in games like Super Mario Galaxy(1 and 2), New Super Mario Bros. Wii and, now, Donkey Kong Country Returns, it can be fun.
Also, I wonder if anything from Team Wiebe is hidden in the game?! Hmmm...
