Beyond Good & Evil, Sands of Time, and more come to GOG photo

For anyone who follows DRM-free digital distributor extraordinaire Good Old Games, we have got one hell of an announcement for you today: Ubisoft was brought on board the service this week.

Say what you will about Ubisoft's current status as a publisher, but there's no arguing that the giant has given us some truly stellar games throughout its history, and those games are now going to be available from GOG.com. Three titles are up for purchase currently at $9.99 a piece: Beyond Good & Evil, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, and IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946.

We have also been told that Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six, Splinter Cell, Far Cry, and Heroes of Might and Magic are going to be released in the near future as well. Pretty damn impressive, if I do say so myself.

Which of these titles, if any, are you thinking of getting? Sands of Time -- a game I somehow missed out on playing -- sounds fantastic to me right about now.

Ah, another game I would put money into if I didn't already own a hard copy. <3 BG&E.

Bought Beyond Good and Evil quite a while back for $5 on Steam, and still haven't gotten around to completing it. :(

Dang, I bought BG&E from steam and it has sync issues and all sorts of problems so I ended up trying to make it run with a torrent (since I DID buy it) and even then had issues. Maybe I'll buy it a second time from these guys since they do a good job of making them work properly.

IL-2 is a pretty amazing game, if you have a joystick

I'm buyin' myself some BG&E! I actually have the CDs that I got from a video card that I bought but (A) they have copy protection on them, and (B) I'd rather support GOG.

GoG is growing like crazy. It's great to see, cause it's really a fantastic company with extremely good customer service and community.

I wanna borrow BG&E from my friend. But man Tom Clancy's Raindow 6 was a sick game for N64. me and my friend played that game so much, we had a ton of fun. I probably wouldn't be able to play it again since Im so used to modern FPS conventions.

Hmmmm... sorta new games eh? If they decide to release Republic Commando with an engine update to support newer cards (The original Republic Commando cannot display bump mapping on newer videocards) I'd definitely buy it AGAIN.

I have BG&E for everything but the xbox.

I'm still wondering whether I should get it from GoG.

Does that make me a bad person?
